Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Zight (formerly CloudApp) is a screen recording and annotation tool built for remote teams, marketers, and support staff who need to capture and share visuals quickly. The core workflow—record, annotate, generate a shareable link—works across desktop apps and Chrome extensions. Key features include video narration, image annotation, cloud storage, and a free ...Read more

CloudApp pros and cons

  • Creates and shares screenshots, videos, GIFs, and annotated content faster than writing explanations or email threads.

  • Keyboard shortcuts and browser extensions make capture and sharing part of a natural workflow.

  • Captured content uploads to the cloud instantly and generates a shareable link automatically.

  • Gives remote teams a visual way to communicate feedback, troubleshooting steps, and ideas.

  • Uploads sometimes fail mid-recording, resulting in lost content and rework.

  • Slowdowns during uploads, screenshot capture delays, and cross-device sync issues occur periodically.

Priceless

What do you like best? Ease of use. It is intuitive to use and does not require training. On average I use cloudapp 3-5 times a day to make recorded screen videos, gifs, or screen shots to share. What do you dislike? I haven't found anything yet. It just works. Recommendations to others considering the product: Easiest screen capture and share app on the market. I've done my homework, it's the easiest. Period. What problems are you solving with the product? What ...

How did I survive without this?!

What do you like best? So easy to use with the Mac desktop widget. Easy as clicking top toolbar of screen and I can record, screenshot, edit screenshots, or even upload files. What do you dislike? I really wish the app didn't have consistent bugs. Sometimes I'll record a 5-7 minute video and it tells me afterwards that it couldn't record. I also have issues naming videos or tagging them sometimes until after video is saved. Recommendations to others considering the product: ...

Solid Offering

What do you like best? Ease of use and the ability to share documents, images, and screen recording with internal teams and publishers. What do you dislike? The inline editing tools were changed adding another step to the process. The original process was much smoother. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Sharing information with internal teams and clients.

Easy screenshot and video sharing for internal and external support.

What do you like best? Annotated videos and voice capture for instructions is super helpful for internal training and education purposes, especially across teams. What do you dislike? The Mac OS app can be a little buggy or slow sometimes, but it's mostly fine. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Annotated screenshots for customer support and troubleshooting, GIFs and videos with voiceover are helpful for complex ...

10/10 would recommend as an Enterprise screenshot, recording and sharing tool

What do you like best? The ability to quickly screenshot, record, access and especially share material across my organisation. The tool is quick and easy in use but provides a lot of value. We use GIFs to quickly highlight a certain page or feature and include these in many of our material, from sales to product support to marketing and for internal sharing. It's easy to use (easy navigation) quick to access, great integration and sharing functionality. We've multiple people leveraging ...

Use it every day to explain work to clients.

What do you like best? CloudApp is fantastic for taking quick (or long) videos of me walking through websites or complicated issues that otherwise would be very difficult to explain over the phone or email. I also love being able to markup screenshots that let me clearly explain something better than words alone. What do you dislike? I really don't have any dislikes about CloudApp - it's worth every penny for me. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits ...

An Invaluable Tool

What do you like best? It allows me to create sharable content on the fly What do you dislike? As the feature set grows, the interface is becoming a little clunky What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I am saving endless time by being able to annotate with text and symbols, or simply with my voice.

Convenient file share - no logins or permissions

What do you like best? I love that it's simple. No permission. Anyone with the link can access the file. It has all the features you need, but none of the gimmicky ones. I love the feature to screen record, screenshot, file upload. I use short screen recordings to quickly train clients on simple tasks they can do themselves, and it automatically gives me a link to share in an email. Those also play in-browser, which makes it convenient on their end. What do you dislike? ...

Nearly 10 years with Cloudapp - convenient and powerful tool

What do you like best? CloudApp takes the thought process out of quickly sharing files, documents, images, video and more. I can generate anything and drop it into CloudApp for a quick link to share things efficiently and quickly - and know when people click it. Nice to not have to worry about storage constraints or server maintenance when sharing things. What do you dislike? Starting shortly after 5.8 and on into 6.x CloudApp has not been capturing GIFs and videos directly for ...
