Spotsaas Editor’s POV
Zight (formerly CloudApp) is a screen recording and annotation tool built for remote teams, marketers, and support staff who need to capture and share visuals quickly. The core workflow—record, annotate, generate a shareable link—works across desktop apps and Chrome extensions. Key features include video narration, image annotation, cloud storage, and a free ...Read more
CloudApp pros and cons
Creates and shares screenshots, videos, GIFs, and annotated content faster than writing explanations or email threads.
Keyboard shortcuts and browser extensions make capture and sharing part of a natural workflow.
Captured content uploads to the cloud instantly and generates a shareable link automatically.
Gives remote teams a visual way to communicate feedback, troubleshooting steps, and ideas.
Uploads sometimes fail mid-recording, resulting in lost content and rework.
Slowdowns during uploads, screenshot capture delays, and cross-device sync issues occur periodically.

Love CloudApp
What do you like best? CloudApp makes it so easy to quickly share video or gif content. When I have clients struggling with something, I can easily show them exactly what to do in a fraction of the time other software or screen sharing apps would take. What do you dislike? 1 minute time limit on video recordings. Gotta move fast, but for the most part it's enough. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Showing clients is much easier ...

Very very good
What do you like best? Sharing video clips with our remote team couldn't be easier. I'm using it to mainly communicate bugs and UX issues with the distributed dev team and support videos in our help documentation. Plan to experiment with using it to create marketing gifs. What do you dislike? Not much - I'd probably like to see a default save to local disk/downloads folder as well as the cloud url. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? ...

Screenshots and Short Videos for the win!
What do you like best? I like that I can take a quick screenshot and it pops the link to my clipboard for easy pasting. Same with short videos. Haven't played much with the .gif or annotate features, but CloudApp is a powerful tool. What do you dislike? I do wish that we were allowed more than 1-minute videos in the freebie plan, but that also forces me to be concise. I've also not figured out the video editing feature, but I'm sure there's documentation on it that I've just not ...

Must Have App!
What do you like best? I love that when I take a screenshot it pops up and gives my options but also has already added it to my clipboard so I just have to paste it and go. Having the history is also awesome. What do you dislike? I'm not sure if I have it setup right but I have to close the popup window each time after I paste. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I replaced the Mac default screen capture and now only use cloud app.

CLOUDAPP MY LIFE
What do you like best? CloudApp is major key in life for both work and personal. Making gifs is what I like best about it because I can quickly make something funny to share with the team OR (if we are talking about productivity) I can quickly share a problem or product feature to troubleshoot to our support and engineering teams. What do you dislike? I dislike that there aren't more ways to engage in the CloudApp community. I would love to know creative/funny ways other sales ...

A simple yet powerful tool that easily scales your efforts
What do you like best? That any type of visual communication is easily done within CloudApp. I've been using the tool for the past 3 years and found that with each update more stability and functionality don't make the app cumbersome. I've had incredibly important communications to both clients and my own team that have been made more effective by annotated screenshots, or action based GIFs. The reason I stuck with the tool was the GIFs which I found to be most helpful when I was doing ...

Has improved communication and productivity in our distributed team
What do you like best? Frictionless and simple steps to take screenshots or video. The annotation feature is very useful. Helpful to have the history of screenshots at hand for reference as needed. Having the option of GIF or MP4 for video is good as GIF is sometimes a better option for embedding / auto-play in documentation. What do you dislike? New clips and content after annotation is supposed to get automatically copied to clipboard, which helps quickly paste the content ...

A whole tool box in a single App
What do you like best? What impressed me was the ease of annotation of not only screen grabs but files. Also the video ability to capture your screen. What do you dislike? I would prefer as a default the content to be automatically saved for pasting as opposed to a link, that said it only takes an extra click to achieve this. Recommendations to others considering the product: Test it out. I think you will rate it. What problems are you solving with the product? What ...
