Zight (formerly CloudApp) is a screen recording and annotation tool built for remote teams, marketers, and support staff who need to capture and share visuals quickly. The core workflow—record, annotate, generate a shareable link—works across desktop apps and Chrome extensions. Key features include video narration, image annotation, cloud storage, and a free ...Read more
CloudApp pros and cons
Creates and shares screenshots, videos, GIFs, and annotated content faster than writing explanations or email threads.
Keyboard shortcuts and browser extensions make capture and sharing part of a natural workflow.
Captured content uploads to the cloud instantly and generates a shareable link automatically.
Gives remote teams a visual way to communicate feedback, troubleshooting steps, and ideas.
Uploads sometimes fail mid-recording, resulting in lost content and rework.
Slowdowns during uploads, screenshot capture delays, and cross-device sync issues occur periodically.

Saves more time than words can express
What do you like best? I LOVE being able to quickly and easily narrate a video to send off as an instructional guide, troubleshooting tool or (maybe especially) as a clear and detailed demonstration of an issue that might be arising in our software. What do you dislike? They removed the ability to search by title from the menu bar, but you can still do that online, so it's kinda a moot point. Recommendations to others considering the product: Just try it. What ...

Great tool to use when you need to go over a product/service with your clients
What do you like best? I like that I am able to draw and highlight on my desktop as I record. This helps get attention from my clients on what I want them to know most. What do you dislike? I wish there's an option that my business logo will be on the screen during my recording Recommendations to others considering the product: I really like cloudapp and the features that it provides. Easy to use and I love that I can draw on the screen while recording What problems ...

CloudApp has been my go-to tool for 5+ years
What do you like best? Ease of use, unlimited storage, and DEFINITELY the ability to record videos with voice-over. People are delighted when they receive a personalized video, and CloudApp makes that unbelievably easy for anyone to do. What do you dislike? I struggle to create full-browser-sized GIFs. I wish they had shortcut keys for recording videos. Recommendations to others considering the product: Just get it! Screencaptures are an essential part of doing business, ...

I use this a couple dozen times a day - so easy
What do you like best? When I first started working at my company I noticed everyone was using CloudApp and I was still relying on CMD + SHIFT + 4 for screenshots. I was slow to make the transition but picked it up quickly because of how EASY it is to do. I can send a screenshot link, create a gif, trim down a video recording almost entirely with keyboard strokes. What do you dislike? Sometimes it's slow or a video recording will take too long to process What problems are ...

An essential tool in my design/development toolbox
What do you like best? Cloudapp integrates seamlessly with your OS experience, augmenting the screen capture capabilities and giving you a handy online archive of what you've sent out. It doesn't feel like I'm using a whole new tool to do these things, it just works, and integrates with Photoshop and other apps to make capturing designs as simple as a keystroke. What do you dislike? The search function in the online archive view used to be only semi-functional, but they've made ...

CloudApp: A tool I use every day!
What do you like best? CloudApp is literally a tool I use every day, in every part of my word. My favorite feature of CloudAPP is the ability to share screenshots via a CloudApp URL within moments of having taken them. I'm also a fan of the ease of adding annotations to screenshots, and of being able to take very quick screen recordings. I've tried many a screenshot app and this one is the best! What do you dislike? As a Basecamp 2 user, I'm not able to paste a URL into a ...

Incredibly lightweight and easy to set up
What do you like best? I really like how quickly the screenshot captures and is sharable. I also enjoy that there is a GIF capture. I like downloading the GIF after I capture and using it when making walkthroughs. What do you dislike? I’m having an issue right now where I need to have CloudApp open in the dock in order to screenshot, maybe I’m doing something wrong. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I use it often to take a ...

Essential to my workflow

It can be buggy sometimes but for the most part it’s great and reliable Recommendations to others considering the product: Try to learn the shortcuts. They save a lot of time. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I’m always trying to provide visual feedback to my design team and Cloudapp is great for that.
