I’ve been using Big Cartel for years and it’s perfect.Initially I used the free plan, but soon moved on to a paid plan with inventory.There are no hidden charges and 0% taken on sales, just the monthly or annual charge.I am an artist and I love the way that the theme I chose is visual. Intuitive, easy to use, simple clean designs

Intuitive, Easy to use and simple. Im an artist and sell art prints and original art. I set up my store on the couch at my mother in laws house in 2019/2020 and have used it for the past 5 years. There are limitations - but if you are just starting out- it’s a perfect choice.

I think all of these 1 star reviews are reviewing actual websites rather than the Big Cartel company itself. I’ve been using Big Cartel for the past 8 months, as I just started my small business. It’s great for small businesses like me that can’t quite afford the £30 for Shopify. It’s a lot more simplistic and minimal, but that’s kinda good for newbies and smaller businesses as you can get really caught up in over customising your website. I think the bad reviews on here are for perhaps not so honest website creators who sell under-par goods. However, if you are thinking about trying your own shop, this company have been great so far. Don't bother with Shopify etc who charge a lot. Now I don't know how scalable Big Cartel are but if you are wanting to try something out, try them. I'll be sticking with them for as long as my business can grow with them and they stay competitive.

Faux fur source = scammers

Do not order anything from faux fur source!! Waited 3 months for my package, it didnt arrive. And u dont get the money refunded either.

This wanna-be Etsy platform is plagued with problems. They advertise as "free" but it's far from it. On Etsy you pay a measly 20 cents listing fee. With the Cartel you can pay $10 dollars or more in a monthly fee and if you make no sales then you lose a lot more money.The platform is small so they offer no protection for sellers or buyers, so scams run rampant on the site.
