Nifty mapping software

What do you like best? ArcGIS Online is a cloud-based mapping and analysis software. It's great at analyzing map data, which you can import or export, and it offers its own Esri-curated content. ArcGIS is the industry standard and you won't find another product like it. The Online version is good for entry-level users. What do you dislike? ArcGIS Online isn't as powerful as ArcGIS Pro. It's also not great at quickly updating its layers. For example: if I import data and run analysis on ...

ArcGIS Online is for everyone

What do you like best? AGOL is easy to use, user friendly, reliable. What do you dislike? I don’t like the credit usage and believe it would be better if specific pricing was available for what your particular use of AGOL is. Recommendations to others considering the product: Dig in and ask questions. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Publishing web maps/apps for field workers to use as a reference. Great tool to house data and create ...

AGOL platform useful with sales and presentations

What do you like best? Easy to build an app and share with the organization. Very useful for presentations and prospecting other organizations. What do you dislike? It is hard to track the connections between the app, corresponding web map, and the MXDs or Pro project that helped to create it. It would be helpful to be able to see how the web maps are linked to different applications so you have a better understanding of what you are ultimately affecting with edits. Importing ...

GIS Online for everyone

What do you like best? Many types of products for different products to choose from depending on need and skill level What do you dislike? There are so many different types of products that the right one for a specific need is not always clear. I don't like how the types of users keeps changing. I understand how ArcSDE works and how data is saved, related, accessed and versioned. But I'm not sure how layers are stored, related, tracked in AGOL/portal. Recommendations to others ...
