Good Experience thus far.

We have had a good experience with Alexandria thus far. It is a remarkable change from the previous LMS, which we used. However, we are having the following challenges: 1) Inability to obtain a full report of the number of loans which have been effected. It appears that once a book has been checked back into the system, the loan record is removed, so to speak. 2) We also wish to have the Circulation Module record usage of /access to electronic documents as loans. We have to ask our users ...

Alexandria

I love the ease of the program. And the flexibility that I can check on the computer at home things I need to access from the Alexandria program.

Easy to use

I think that the Alexandria system is very easy to use. My only complaint is that I cannot figure out how to change the page boundaries when making labels. Sometimes when I make labels, they don't fit correctly and run to other labels. I like the creating bib part, very easy. Keeping track of check in and check out, classrooms, and my collection is super simple.

Makes my life so much easier.

Alexandria is a lifesaver in my library. The ease of check-in/check-out and the automatic mark record look up-amazing!

Disappointed

I have been using Alexandria for over 10 years and have never had any real problems with the system until I upgraded last year to the on-line version. I found numerous glitches in the system. The reports were not as easy to run and many of the search features were not as efficient. At the beginning of this school our entire school district converted to the union library system. It has been a disaster. There has been numerous problems and our entire group of librarians wasted valuable time ...

Review of Software

The software is not always user-friendly. Some tasks have to be done individually and it would be so much faster to be able to apply them to a group. My students would love interactive components like book reviews and easy access checkout history.

First Year Librarian

I like how students can submit reviews, and place holds on titles with ease. The alert sounds help students with independent checkout, and help alert library staff as well. One challenge is how the search tool can be a challenge for elementary children. If something is not spelled exactly right, it is harder to find the items. As a librarian, this is the first tool I've used for cataloguing. I've been mostly satisfied with this aspect of Alexandria. Some of the reports are not as ...

Too Much!

I know that Alexandria will do lots of things for my library. I however have a hard time finding what I am looking for and making the best choice from all of the options I have.

Newer User of Alexandria

As this is the only library software I have used, I don't really have anything to compare it to; however, the few wishes I have are more customization to the reports. Also, it would be helpful to have a spanish version of some of the reports such as overdue letters or notices.
