Easy to maintain

I have been using Alexandria for 15 years now. It took my county a long time to upgrade to the online version, but I am glad we did. It makes cataloguing and upkeep much easier. I have had minimal problems with the system through the years. It is sometimes difficult to locate and format the reports exactly as I want them. Mostly good with some glitches!

I have been using Alexandria for 10 years now. Recently we upgraded to the all web based version. I feel that it isn't as easily used as in the past; however, Alexandria is great with support and has taken some of our suggestions in the past and implemented them.

Software helps school library to function.

For most checking out and inventory purposes, Alexandria Library Automation Software works great. I wish it were easier to change book information (such as call numbers) in large batches. I also wish the system Alexandria uses to search for book information when entering new books was inclusive of more publishers.

Mixed blessings

There are many kid-friendly and librarian-friendly features in the Alexandria product we use! However, there are, as elsewhere stated, too many distracting choices for my students, and too many repeated actions required of me in cataloging and circulation. My work environment prevents me from using the tech support, which is a bummer; at least the COMPanion online reference has been helpful to an extent.

Alexandria Automated Services

It has been my experience over the past 10 years that Alexandria is a very reliable system. Your tech support folks are super helpful and always wiling to troubleshoot when I have problems. There are so many aspects to Alexandria that even after using it for 10 years I feel I am just scratching the surface of all that it offers.

Alexandria Library Software

I've been using Alexandria Library Software for eight years in my school library. For the most part, is uncomplicated to learn and use. There are so many applications available from this software! I would like to have more training, though, such as tutorials for different applications.

Relatively easy and works well

I inherited my library system, and have upgraded some of the features to make it better suited to my students' needs. Overall, I think it is very easy to use, once you learn it. Some of the features (i.e. reports, utilities, etc) require no learning curve, while others you need to think like a programmer to get it do do what you want. Alexandria Version 5

I have used Alexandria V5 for the past 5 years. It has been very user friendly. Tech support has always been helpful if I have needed them. The only drawback is not being able to access Alexandria and work from home. I am upgrading to the online version this year. So, working from home will now be an option.

pretty good company

I do like Alexandria but I find that when the company does,"updates" to make things "better" for us,,, it usually isn't. I never know what is changing until I'm trying to do something and It won't do it... I'm not very tech savvy so I have to get a tech person..... I hate that we used to get a books picture when we entered it in computer and now I have to go find it on another site and drag it over. But all in all I do like the way the Alex program works.

Alexandria...user friendly and very supportive

We just upgraded this year to the web version & honestly it has its ups and downs. But I will say Alexandria is working to resolve all our issues. Sometimes it seems the issues aren't corrected as quickly as we would like. They do listen to new ideas on the software and they continue to make improvements on the features. Support is always there to answer your questions and walk you through how to do anything you need. No software is perfect and it is impossible to please everyone 100% but ...
