USed for created a "private internet" pipe into and out of Australia
What do you like best? Use of Akamai sped up our server intensive custom app in a former company dramatically when providing services to Australia - few people know this, but he data pipe into and out f Australia is pretty small, and page turn times can be subject to major lag What do you dislike? The best and most expensive content delivery network on the market
What do you like best? Delivery is top notch and exceeds the speeds of Limelight, edgecast, etc. They excel at larger files. Great features like gzip compression. What do you dislike? Obviously the price is a barrier for entry for a lot of customers. Recommendations to others considering the product When we evaluated Akamai, we pitted them against Limelight and did well with pricing. There are a lot of up-and-coming providers out there. What do you like best? The ability to host flash files or movies in a network that spans the globe ensuring user experiences are great for users globally. What do you dislike? It is very costly Recommendations to others considering the product Akamai does an awesome job of hosting resource intensive files that allow users globally to easily access data from a website or download close to their location.
