Decent product but much more limited than I anticipated based on my experience with previous ABBYY

Good tool for a knowledged user

I love ABBYY

What do you like best? I love the archive PDF features that use the OCR and create searchable documents. We use this product to document all aspects of a small city business. We use it for filing invoices, payments, payroll, police citations, court documents, utility contracts and bills, city council meeting minutes, etc. What do you dislike? Overall a good product.

What do you like best? Most of the functions can be performed with little to no assistance from the user. What do you dislike? the OCR functionality is good but not perfect. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Frequently users only have PDF versions of their policies and procedure. We use Abbyy to convert the documents to word, We can right click or batch process the documents.

Great Desktop Product

What do you like best? It works relatively quickly in processing multiple pdfs. What do you dislike? The dpi has to be high for it to work well What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We had 4,000 pieces of paper that we scanned and were able to identify duplicates.

Effective and efficient

I purchased FineReader and pdfRevu separately based on prior "integration" purchases and speaking with agents. I tried pdfRevu with integrated FineReader and the workflow -where needed - was outstanding. good overall but some small issues.

What do you like best? Overall, Abby 14 behaves the way I expect. I bought it for the ocr text recognition. It works well. It also makes editing PDFs easy. What do you dislike? The ocr is good overall, but if a more robust solution came along, I'd consider switching. I also had the known issue with CCleaner that required a reinstall. But even aside from that issue, I've had to use the windows programs menu to repair the software a couple of times. The repair always works and then the ...

Great OCR!

What do you like best? I love the hot folder feature, makes it effortless to OCR and route documents. What do you dislike? Really, not much. Sometimes the hot folder gets stuck and doesn't pick up a new file but I just need to restart it then it goes again. Recommendations to others considering the product: well worth the investment.
