ABBYY FineReader 15 great
What do you like best? I particularly like the flexibility of the program to scan to multiple formats. What do you dislike? Not really much to dislike about the program. Occasionally, the instructions might be just a bit more clear, but they're generally just fine. Recommendations to others considering the product: Just keep doing well What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I've been scanning photocopies of documents such as ...

Just what I needed for college
What do you like best? Being able to scan documents and search the text has been invaluable to me as a student. I was able to scan my loose-leaf textbook and use it as an "e-book," searching definitions and such on my computer. Being able to create and edit PDF files, using the screen-shot feature to capture needed graphics and such, has been incredibly useful! What do you dislike? I'd have to say one of the things I dislike about it is that sometimes the "print" is insanely slow. I ...

Much better replacement for Adobe Acrobat DC
What do you like best? Best OCR (including excellent automatically inserted headings), enormous flexibiility to make all kinds of edits, and comparison of two pdf documents works much better than Acrobat's version. The printer function has many more options than most printer apps. I greatly appreciate the one-time charge, compared to Acrobat DC's $15 per month charge. What do you dislike? Haven't figured out how to drag pages between two different pdf documents. Haven't found ...

Solid OCR Product, but may not work for all environments
What do you like best? ABBYY Finereader is among the best of the OCR products we have evaluated and used. It is accurate and thorough. I would recommend it for someone looking for quality OCR results. What do you dislike? Because ABBYY started capping off the number of pages you can run through it after version 11, it is no longer useful or cost-effective for our small business as we exceed the number of allowed pages all of the time because of what we process. Recommendations to ...

Great document scanner and editor
What do you like best? I tried Abby Fimereader 14 after Nuance Paperport 14.5 didn’t scale on a 4K display. The interface is easy to understand, and scanning and document editing is quick, and the interface doesn’t lag on a netbook or mini pc. What do you dislike? Fine reader 15 lacks a document database window like.Nuance Paperport 14.5. Also, it lacks auto-text ox recognition and editing that I love about Adobe Acrobat X so much. Recommendations to others considering the product: ...

No compatibility for WordPerfect is a major weakness.
What do you like best? The reliability of its results when scanning documents of various types and sizes. What do you dislike? You may do surveys like this, but you do not respond to user requests such as my request that you RESTORE compatibility with WordPerfect. You used to offer this, but it was removed. Recommendations to others considering the product: Expect fast and accurate OCR. It's the best that I've used in 20 years. What problems are you solving with the product? ...

Great, efficient, necessity.
What do you like best? ABBYY makes the task of manually entering information from PDF to excel a thing of the past. It has saved so much time, and I highly recommend for any organization that needs to convert from PDF to excel often. What do you dislike? It's rare, but sometimes the program does not read the characters correctly. Other than that, it's great. Recommendations to others considering the product: Highly recommend. What problems are you solving with the product? ...

There is really no competitor for FIneReader 15
What do you like best? It has an uncanny ability to accurately deconstruct a document and capture the text, non-text elements and the layout. And it does this in multiple languages with equal accuracy. I think the product is unsurpassed. What do you dislike? Haven't found anything to dislike, really. There is a learning curve here, but given the capabilities, that's only to be expected. Recommendations to others considering the product: I believe there is a free trial - take ...
