What is Prior-Year Return Import?
What does 'Prior-Year Return Import' mean?
Pulling data from a previously filed tax return into the current year's filing, so that carried-forward items such as standing details, depreciation schedules, losses, and elections do not have to be typed in again. The import may read a file from the same product or accept a return prepared elsewhere. It reduces re-keying errors and gives the software a baseline for year-over-year comparison.
