What does 'PACS/RIS Integration' mean?
A PACS stores and displays medical images, while a RIS handles the radiology workflow of orders, scheduling, tracking and reporting. Integration links the practice management system to these so patient demographics, orders and appointments flow through without re-entry, and completed studies and reports come back into the patient record. Exchange normally relies on the DICOM and HL7 standards.
