What is Lesion Detection?
What does 'Lesion Detection' mean?
Lesion detection marks the region of a study where the software believes an abnormality is present, such as a fracture on a plain film, a nodule on a lung CT, a lesion on a mammogram or tumour on a slide. The things to compare are which findings are covered, whether a confidence or suspicion score comes with the mark, and how the product behaves on a normal study, because a screening programme spends most of its time reading normals and a high false mark rate is what makes a reader stop trusting the overlay.
