What is IP Allowlisting and Blocking?

What does 'IP Allowlisting and Blocking' mean?

Rules that permit or deny traffic based on its source IP address or range, letting an administrator restrict an admin panel to office addresses or cut off an address that is abusing an endpoint. Allowlisting is the stricter form, refusing everything not explicitly permitted, while blocking denies known-bad addresses and lets the rest through. Because addresses can be shared or spoofed, it is normally one layer among several rather than a lone control.
