What is Geo-Blocking?

What does 'Geo-Blocking' mean?

Traffic is allowed or denied based on the geographic location associated with a visitor's IP address. Security teams use it to shut out entire countries or regions they never expect legitimate users or customers from, cutting down on automated attacks and scraping. It is a coarse control, since VPNs and proxies can disguise the true origin of a request.
