Who gets the most from Edge AI Platforms
- 1Embedded engineers putting a model on a microcontroller or camera inside a physical product
- 2Computer vision engineers who need detection running locally rather than in a cloud
- 3Operations teams responsible for updating models across many unattended sites
How to choose Edge AI Platforms
Work back from your device. If the target is a microcontroller and the project starts from raw sensor data, filter for microcontroller targeting and look at Edge Impulse, DEEPCRAFT Studio and NetsPresso. If a model already exists and the problem is making it fit, filter for quantisation and compilation and look at Latent AI, Embedl Hub, Plumerai and Ultralytics. If the model works and the problem is thousands of installed devices, filter for fleet orchestration and look at Barbara, ZEDEDA and Avassa. Cameras and computer vision specifically point to Roboflow and Picovoice for on-device voice. Vendors whose purchase unit is a chip or a board are filed under their own hardware categories rather than here, so everything on this page is sold as software. Edge Impulse, Roboflow, Ultralytics and Embedl Hub publish free tiers you can test a real model on before talking to anyone.

What is Latent AI?
Latent AI sells LEIP, an SDK for taking a trained model and turning it into something that runs inside the compute and memory budget of a specific edge device. The quantise and compile steps target the processor a team has actually chosen rather than a generic runtime, and the deployment ...

NetsPresso
Optimise and benchmark a model on the chip you will ship on
Best for: Mid-market · Enterprise
Add to compare
What is NetsPresso?
NetsPresso, from Nota, compresses a trained model and then benchmarks it on real target silicon rather than an emulator, which is the difference between a latency figure a team can plan around and one they discover late. Compression, quantisation and hardware-aware optimisation run against a ...

Ultralytics
Train a YOLO model and export it to 23 device formats
Best for: SMB teams · Mid-market · Enterprise
Add to compare
What is Ultralytics?
Ultralytics maintains the YOLO family of computer vision models and the platform around them, and the reason it belongs on a device list is the export path: a trained model converts to 23 formats including ONNX, TensorRT and CoreML, and runs on CPUs, NVIDIA Jetson boards and Raspberry Pi as ...

Barbara
Deploy and update AI models across thousands of industrial sites
Best for: Mid-market · Enterprise
Add to compare
What is Barbara?
Barbara is an industrial edge platform for the problem that arrives after a model works: getting it onto hundreds or thousands of nodes in substations, factories and remote installations, and updating it later without sending an engineer to each one. Its MLOps component packages a trained model ...

What is ZEDEDA?
ZEDEDA manages the layer underneath distributed edge computing and has extended it to carry models. EVE-OS, an open-source edge operating system, runs on third-party hardware at each site, and the hosted controller deploys models, agents and autonomous workloads onto that estate, keeps model ...

Embedl Hub
Pick a model that already fits the board you are shipping
Best for: SMB teams · Mid-market · Enterprise
Add to compare
What is Embedl Hub?
Embedl Hub approaches device deployment from the model catalogue rather than the compiler. Each entry carries the hardware it has been measured on, so a team reads Runs on Orin NX 16GB or Runs on AGX Thor against a model before committing to it, instead of discovering the fit after integration. ...

Plumerai
Run vision models on a dollar chip with a megabyte of memory
Best for: Mid-market · Enterprise
Add to compare
What is Plumerai?
Plumerai works at the smallest end of on-device machine learning, where the budget is a dollar chip with one megabyte of memory and the model has to fit anyway. Its inference engine runs vision models efficiently on CPUs rather than requiring an accelerator, optimised for Arm Cortex-M, Arm ...

What is Avassa?
Avassa gives operations teams a single consistent way to run applications and models across hundreds or thousands of sites, which is a different problem from training them. A control tower issues the desired state and an edge enforcer on each site makes it so, automating model deployment, ...

Record sensor data, train a model, export it as C code
Best for: SMB teams · Mid-market · Enterprise

What is DEEPCRAFT Studio?
DEEPCRAFT Studio, built by Imagimob and now sold under Infineon, takes a microcontroller project from raw sensor data to deployable firmware in one pass. A team records audio or motion data, labels it, runs automated training against it, and packages the result as C code with one click, which ...
