Gemini Enterprise Pricing 2026: Editions, Costs and What It Does

The short answer: Gemini Enterprise is Google Cloud’s AI platform for work: a chat and agent workspace that connects to your company’s apps (including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, HubSpot and Jira), runs Google-made agents such as Deep Research and Gemini Notebook, and lets staff build their own agents without code. Google publishes three editions. Business starts at $21 per seat per month, for up to 300 seats with no IT setup. Standard and Plus start at $30 per seat per month, with unlimited seats and enterprise controls such as VPC Service Controls, customer-managed encryption keys and data residency. A pay-as-you-go edition with a $0 seat fee, for organizations with 20 or more seats, is rolling out to a limited group of customers. Each paid edition has a 30-day free trial.

Google does not publish separate Standard and Plus prices on the page we reviewed; both are listed as “starting at $30”. Ask sales which features differ between the two and what quota each includes.

How much does Gemini Enterprise cost per month?

From $21 per seat per month for the Business edition and from $30 per seat per month for Standard or Plus. “Starting at” matters here: the final number depends on the edition, your seat count, your agreement with Google Cloud, and whether you add Frontline seats. The pay-as-you-go edition has no seat fee at all; you pay for the tokens, memory, compute and storage your teams consume at Google’s standard rates, which is attractive for spiky agent workloads but harder to forecast.

Buying routes differ by edition. Business can be started from a free trial with no IT setup. Standard and Plus can also be trialled for 30 days through the Google Cloud console, but most organizations buy them through Google Cloud sales or a partner, often against an existing Google Cloud commitment.

What does Gemini Enterprise do?

Think of it as four things in one product:

• A work assistant. Search and analyze company information, generate insights, and create text, image and video content, grounded in the sources you connect.
• A connector layer. A library of connectors for business apps and data sources, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, HubSpot and Jira, so answers draw on where the work already lives.
• An agent platform. Prebuilt Google agents such as Deep Research and Gemini Notebook for enterprise; a no-code, drag-and-drop Workflow Builder for custom agents; and, on Standard and Plus, agents you build with Google’s Agent Development Kit or buy from third parties.
• A governance layer. One place to see and manage all agents, their permissions and their activity, with Model Armor screening for prompt injection and unsafe content.

Example: an HR policy agent

Job to be done: answer employee policy questions without routing every one to HR. Input: a question in chat. AI step: the agent searches the connected HR policy folder and intranet, drafts an answer with citations. Human review: questions the agent cannot answer with a source, or that involve an individual case, are handed to an HR partner. Output: a cited answer, or a ticket. It needs read access to the policy sources and a handoff path. Measure deflection rate, answer accuracy on a sample reviewed weekly, and time to answer. The main risk is stale or conflicting source documents, so assign an owner for the content.

What is Gemini Enterprise vs Gemini?

“Gemini” covers several products, and buyers often pay twice by accident:

If your staff mostly want help writing emails and summarizing meetings inside Google Workspace, check what your Workspace plan already includes before adding Gemini Enterprise seats. Gemini Enterprise earns its cost when you need agents that work across many systems, including Microsoft 365, CRM and ticketing tools. Google’s page also suggests talking to sales about how Gemini Enterprise works with Workspace if you use both.

Who owns Gemini Enterprise?

Google. Gemini Enterprise is sold by Google Cloud and runs on Google Cloud infrastructure. Governments and education institutions have separate tailored offerings, such as Gemini for Government, through Google Cloud sales.

Security, data use and compliance

• Training: Google’s page states that for the Business, Standard and Plus editions, your data, including prompts and outputs, isn’t used to train Google models or models for any other customer; Google doesn’t sell customer data or use it for advertising; and you own your data.
• Data sovereignty: VPC Service Controls, customer-managed encryption keys, Access Transparency and data residency are listed for Standard and Plus, not Business.
• Regulated workloads: Google says Standard and Plus help meet compliance requirements for workloads such as HIPAA and FedRAMP High. Confirm the specific scope and any agreements you need, such as a BAA, with Google Cloud.
• Agent controls: admins control which apps and data agents can reach and can monitor agent activity; on Standard and Plus they can also set spending thresholds and guardrails for developer tools.
• Threat protection: Model Armor screens interactions for prompt injection and harmful content.

Is Gemini Enterprise any good?

It is a strong fit in three situations: your company already runs on Google Cloud and wants to spend against that commitment; you need one assistant that connects across both Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 plus line-of-business apps; or you need data residency, CMEK and VPC controls for regulated workloads and want them in the same console as your other Google Cloud controls. It is a weaker fit if you only need in-app help for Workspace users, which Workspace plans already cover, or if your content and permissions are messy, because any enterprise search product surfaces those problems quickly.

Is Gemini Enterprise better than ChatGPT?

They are close competitors, and “better” depends on your stack and requirements. On documented facts: Gemini Enterprise publishes per-seat starting prices ($21 and $30), while ChatGPT Enterprise is quote-only (its self-serve Business plan starts at $20 per seat on annual billing). Both vendors state they do not train on business data by default. Gemini Enterprise lists VPC-SC, CMEK and data residency on its higher editions, which matters to Google Cloud customers; ChatGPT Enterprise lists SCIM, a Compliance API for audit logs and admin-controlled retention. How to estimate your Gemini Enterprise cost

Annual cost = (Business seats x Business price x 12) + (Standard/Plus seats x quoted price x 12) + Frontline add-ons + pay-as-you-go usage, if any

Using the published starting prices for a hypothetical company:

• 150 seats on Business: 150 x $21 x 12 = $37,800 per year.
• 1,000 seats on Standard at the starting price: 1,000 x $30 x 12 = $360,000 per year, before any negotiated discount.

Two points to check: the Business edition caps at 300 seats, so a growing company may need to move to Standard or Plus; and pooled storage and indexing (25 GiB per seat on Business, 75 GiB on Standard and Plus) can matter if you plan to index large document stores.

Rollout checklist before you buy seats

1. Pick three use cases with an owner and a metric each, for example policy questions answered, sales account briefs prepared, or support tickets summarized.
2. Audit sharing permissions in the sources you will connect. Enterprise search respects existing access, so overshared folders become visible answers.
3. Decide the edition by requirement, not by headcount alone. If legal needs data residency or CMEK, Business will not meet it even for a small team.
4. Set agent governance rules: who may build agents in Workflow Builder, who approves agents that write to other systems, and how agent activity is reviewed.
5. Use the 30-day trial with real users and measure weekly active use and task completion before signing for the full seat count.

• Up to 300 people, no strict compliance needs: Business, starting with the free trial.

• Agent workloads are bursty and you have 20+ seats: ask whether the pay-as-you-go edition is available to you.
