WP-Engine told me I needed their most expensive hosting product for $600/month for my website that has nothing complicated, no commerce, etc. I needed something quick and went along because my salesman Thomas said I could cancel anytime. They even initially tried to get me to agree to over $800. After 17 days I emailed my sales rep Thomas that I want to cancel and found good hosting for $300 per year. Aggressive sales tactics, insanely high prices & a bad experience altogether

We recently decided to switch from WP Engine to Cloudways after a salesperson from WP Engine contacted us saying that we need to urgently upgrade our plan to a considerably more expensive one. The reason was that we were using too many resources on the shared server. The only proof that they were able to provide was an Excel sheet with the name of our website and the usage percentage next to it.
