Wordpress, a versatile website platform

What do you like best? The number of plug-ins, the back-end design, the ability to edit visually or by code, its free for the basic platform, huge variety of options for customizing your site, many different templates, many are free What do you dislike? Its not as user friendly for a non - coder as something like wix, sometimes the visual editor creates very funky code, sometimes I wonder if Wordpress is worth it or if coding from scratch would be a better use of time, as its ...

Wordpress, from a really nice CMS to the worst selection you can do

What do you like best? I think I keep liking that Wordpress have a big community, for themes, plugins and all that kind of things you need to create a website in a fast way without a lot of effort. What do you dislike? I really hate that this CMS followed a wrong path, there is a lot of popular plugins which are being infected with a way to steal data, or to open a backdoor, also, it requires a lot of constant maintenance since the plugins update every 5 minutes and requires a lot of ...

WordPress Review

What do you like best? It's super easy to get started and there are great templates to use. What do you dislike? Some of the Plugins are hard to navigate, but that's not WordPress' fault. Recommendations to others considering the product If you're looking for a web tool that has tons of options for easily adding elements to your site, then this is it. Other sites like Wix that are easier to drag and drop are great for design, but if you need a more robust website, WordPress is the ...

Wordpress - What you make of it

What do you like best? I like the easy interface. It is easy to learn and if you want to get more complicated, you can do so. You can make it your own! What do you dislike? Sometimes, as always, you do lose a post or miss hitting save and lose your draft. That is not the fault of WordPress though. Recommendations to others considering the product It is an easy tool for beginners, but those with more experience can work with it for some very nice sites. What business problems are ...

Worpress is a great tool for easy website development

What do you like best? Workpress is easy for uses with little to no experience to make a professional looking highly functional web presence to meet their needs. What do you dislike? While there are a lot of add-ons, it is hard to find the best one to meet intended needs. It is also limited in the ability for advances users to tweak the software without knowledge of coding and development. The text editor is somewhat limited as to formatting beyond simple text changes. What business ...

Pretty easy for someone with little web background

What do you like best? Easy and functional. I have little web design background but I feel confident in my ability to get myself around WordPress. I have used it at work and in freelance. In the past, I have used Wordpress for blogging and ideally, I think the system is best for simplified use such as that. Using the pre-built templates with little to no web training has been the most challenging part. As a visual person, being about to drag and drop with a clear understanding of how the ...

User Friendly and Versatile Publishing Platform

What do you like best? Wordpress.org is extremely user-friendly. I especially like that it's self-hosted. It's great for people with little to non experience as well as for people who can code and develop. There are a wide variety of plug-ins, widgets, and themes you can apply to your website. It also works well with Google Analytics. I've used it for both a well-known resort as well as a law firm. Both businesses were completely different, yet wordpress.org worked well for both. What ...

Still the best Open Source CMS

What do you like best? Easy to use and train, good roadmap, low maintenance and easy to upgrade. What do you dislike? Tries to do too much, and sometimes ends up not doing anything well. Recommendations to others considering the product Great for blogs and simple sites. Don’t use a ton of plugins or leverage Wordpress for user generated content like forms. Hosting is everything, a Wordpress Specific Host is usually worth it. What business problems are you solving with the product? ...

Newbie WordPress User

What do you like best? I like that a lot of people use wordpress so there are lots of resources available online. There are quite a few free options for people who don't want to pay for fancy features. What do you dislike? I think it's confusing for beginnings to navigate. I constantly have to search information online because I don't understand what half of the functions are. Recommendations to others considering the product Make sure you find a good resource to help you navigate. ...

Generate quick websites without any programming skills

What do you like best? Ease of use , feature rich, integration with social media. Lot of reliance on plugins. What do you dislike? Limitations compared to other websites - wish you introduce more drag and drop features. Also, additional tools for user login and database should be build in to make a secure infrastructure. I think wordpress should have some basic tools built in rather than relying solely on plugins and include the everyday plugins like reports, user logins into the tool ...
