Wave pros and cons

  • Provides free accounting tools and features, making it an accessible option for small businesses and freelancers with tight budgets.

  • Easy to use, intuitive interface that simplifies invoicing, expense tracking, and recurring billing for users without an accounting background.

  • Automates key accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations, recurring invoices, and transaction categorization, saving time and effort.

  • Allows seamless integration with bank accounts and imports transactions efficiently, streamlining financial tracking.

Terrible Updates

They keep changing the transaction page and it is awful now. You can't see the description of the line items. Every time they update that page it's for the worst, not for the better. You can't read more than two words from the description of each line item. Now you have to click on each to read the description which adds hundreds of hours of work to bookkeeping when you used to be able to see it by simply scrolling up and down. Horrible update. They're going backwards. It seems you also ...

Beware this company

I sent an invoice using Wave to a customer which was paid on March 19th using Wave's payment processing service. The app told me that the payment was processing and should clear into my account on March 31. This seemed like a long time, but I waited patiently. Noon on March 30 I received an email from Wave saying that they had decided not to allow me to use their payment processing system and would now be holding the funds for 65 days. I'm sure the funds have exited my customer's account at ...

Akin to having a scammer handle your payments

A couple of months after using the Wave's system, they abruptly and suddenly witheld a payment for a large job causing severe losses and a whopping $400 in overdraft fees. They claimed they took the funds for a standard regular risk review because of a client's amex payment. After terrible back and forth communication, they cancelled the transaction and we lost over 3 thousand dollars in hard earned monies. Our experience dealing with them was like dealing a scam artist or a fraudster. They ...

"Easy to use and helps me collect payments!"

What do you like best about Wave? Easy to generate invoices as well as add transactions to keep track of all incoming cash flow. We can also import from bank account.

Horse crap technology

Horse crap technology. "If you receive the error, “Couldn’t connect to your institution,” it’s because there’s a known issue between our third-party data aggregator and your bank." How is this even a thing in 2021? You are partnered with RBC and you are blaming your inability to connect customers to their banking on a third party app lol. Hire a better product team.
