A very good IDE for Unity development

What do you like best? Visual Studio is a very comprehensive IDE with outstanding support when developing for Unity(that is what I have used it for the most). The way it can look for running Unity instances and attach to them to provide debugging support is quite extraordinary and makes the life of a game developer rather easy. The docs reading system expose Unity's documentation quite well removing the need of switching between Unity and Visual Studio to figure out the behaviour of a ...

Great interface and packages!

What do you like best? Visual studio is the best way to manage code in a large project with many files. It has built in version control features to help you integrate with git and work with other people on the same repository. I love to develop in dark-mode because it is easy on the eyes, and VS has a really well formatted interface with dark-mode default. I love the ability to compare any two files side by side. VS also handles errors in a really helpful way with a red-highlight on the ...

A great IDE with good support

What do you like best? There is a lot of plugins for specific stacks and excellent support in the community for people using standard stacks or Microsoft products. The growing use of TypeScript is well-supported and adds power to my previous Visual Code experience. What do you dislike? It was just too much for us and didn't do enough in excess of the free products to justify its use in our case. We use Visual Studio Code still, on a nearly daily basis. Recommendations to others ...
