Dear Hannah, we have used Vend since a year ago upgraded from free account to 6 register and shops and have finally given up waiting. We were like you when problem occurs. Hoping the would debug and all. But after nearly half a year, they couldn't even fix the fundamental issues like settlement inaccuracy when you go multistore. startup retail? You have to try vend as your potential POS
When we first started talking about our future POS, everybody recommended TRIBIKE, the top dog when it comes to Bike Shop POS here in Germany. After 6 months of working with vend, we´re happy to have choosen the dark horse, vend. It´s web-based, much more flexible, gives us a clean and great looking counter by using an ipad instead of a huge PC and the daily access to all the necessary informations is super fast and easy. Best solution, best price, good finance and tax overview.
Best solution, best price, good finance and tax overview. Almost perfect, and constantly improving. And around 40€ cheaper per month, than the Danish alternative i was using.

Fantastic point of sale but terrible premium support
In terms of a great system to use as your point of sale Vend is fantastic. The downside is that getting through on the premium support line is ridiculous. No one ever picks up the phone. Sometimes you can't even leave a message because the line cuts out and they don't give you the option to leave a voicemail message. If you are lucky enough to be able to leave a message on their answering machine their message is " if you have an urgent query please email us". Now I'm sorry, but in retail ...

Vend is a essential part of our business
Vend is very easy to use, the support team is fantastic and has allowed us to create a profession POS for reasonable price. I highly recommend using vend for any retail business.

Getting better
We have been using Vend for almost 4 years, and I found it to be bug ridden and the integration issues with software like Xero caused me a lot of wasted time and money trying to figure out what the problem is. Vend also randomly lost sales, they just did not appear in the history though the sale was processed and receipt printed. Vend support always implied that somehow it was our fault. Vend do not listen to their clients !
My honest experience is that VEND team seem to pretend to want to hear feedback but when we give feedback or requests...all we get is ! Sorry this is not something in our plans... Even things that are in plan have been delayed for years.. example USER ROLES .. until now cashiers and managers can see supplier list and costs which is STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL info.. Another issue which is now pushing us to look for an alternative POS to change to from VEND, is your integration with XERO We have ...

overall: a wonderful POS
We are quiet happy with the POS, everyone in the company likes it! I am little unhappy with the customer service. It takes sometimes very long to get an answer and the answer you get it's not helpful. After I got very angry we found a proper way!
