Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. Trello pros and cons

  • Easy for new and experienced users to operate with minimal setup time.

  • Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.

  • Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.

  • Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.

  • Limited capability for handling large or complex projects due to the lack of advanced features compared to specialized project management tools.

  • Archived tasks and boards are difficult to retrieve or review, causing frustration for long-term task tracking.

"Easy to use, edit, and assign items"

What do you like best about Trello? I like how easy it is to move cards and organize tasks. It allows for both the first draft of ideas and organization as we move forward with project management. What do you dislike about Trello? I dislike the learning curving when it comes to learning about everything you can do with Trello. And taking some time to figure out the benefit of linking certain software together. (For example, my team does not see the need to integrate Trello and Slack). What ...

"Streamline your brain AND your collaborations!"

What do you like best about Trello? My favorite feature for personal to-do lists is the auto-archive "checkmark" automation. It's satisfying to click CHECK and have it wiped from your board (but retrievable if needed!) For group collaboration and project management, I like that you can create to do lists within an action items and assign that whole card to another person on your board. It is so helpful and cuts out the back and forth of "have they done this yet?" that pops up in all of our ...
