Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. The search function doesn't cover archived cards, so ...Read more

Trello pros and cons

  • Easy for new and experienced users to operate with minimal setup time.

  • Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.

  • Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.

  • Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.

  • Limited capability for handling large or complex projects due to the lack of advanced features compared to specialized project management tools.

  • Archived tasks and boards are difficult to retrieve or review, causing frustration for long-term task tracking.

Amazing visual task management tool

What do you like best? Super clean UI, Very visual view of tasks. Customization to benefit personal flow of tasks. Ability to have different boards. What do you dislike? Checklists are a little buried in each card - would like to see some top level checklists so you don't have to drill into a specific card. Recommendations to others considering the product Make sure it's robust enough for your needs. It's flexible and it's simplicity is key but it may not be as robust a solution ...

Helps me Achieve Inbox Zero

What do you like best? I've recommended this tool several times because of how simple it is. I've integrated Trello into my daily task management both at work and home. I've integrated it with Zapier, so when I star an email it automatically adds a task to Trello for follow up. This helps me achieve inbox zero every day. What do you dislike? The premium features are too scarce to pay for it right now. I think they are likely working on a product roadmap to make it worth paying for the ...

Super flexible and totally awesome project management & more

What do you like best? What DON'T I like best? Trello is wonderful for a wide variety of tasks. We use it to keep track of clients and projects, sure - but I also used it to plan my wedding and organize a move. It has a wide variety of features while still remaining flexible enough to have plenty of different uses. What do you dislike? Becoming truly fluent in Trello can take some time. There are so many cool options tucked away that I STILL don't feel like a power user even though ...

Trello is the project management tool that doesn't get in your way

What do you like best? A couple years ago, in the process of doing a discovery session for our newest project management tool we came across Trello. This was after spending some time looking at other tools, like Jira. These tools, although potentially fitting a particular need, felt like an explosion in process and conformity. Trello takes that all away and gives you a fairly free-form way to manage your work, life, recipes, a wedding, and whatever else you may desire. The ...

Good for the list oriented!

What do you like best? I like to list features throughout Trello. They also have a very nice tutorial process. I like being able to attach images to lists. The drag-and-drop features are simple and I also like the mobile app, it is very intuitive and easy to use as well as syncs flawlessly. I am eager to play around with the improved calendar integration, I was really missing that! Depending on the project I do new, next, now lists, or time or project based lists. Trello lets me customize ...

Used for marketing and development team project collaboration

What do you like best? The dead simple interface makes using the product a breeze. This is the only task management product that would work for the non-developer personnel on the projects. They liked it so well they adopted it for internal team projects as well. Having all the relevant project task information centralized and visible really helped communication, lost tasks and even managers see where items were in the queue. What do you dislike? As long you don't expect Trello to be a ...

I use Trello as my online to do list

What do you like best? I like that Trello is simple. I wanted an easy way to manage my to do list. Other tools were so complicated that I needed to add a to do item to my list in order to learn how to use them. But Trello is so simple and easy to set up, update and use that it started it using it the same day that I installed it on my phone. What do you dislike? The only issues that I have with Trello was it was not obvious how to edit to do items and i am still not sure how to delete ...
