Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. The search function doesn't cover archived cards, so ...Read more

Trello pros and cons

  • Easy for new and experienced users to operate with minimal setup time.

  • Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.

  • Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.

  • Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.

  • Limited capability for handling large or complex projects due to the lack of advanced features compared to specialized project management tools.

  • Archived tasks and boards are difficult to retrieve or review, causing frustration for long-term task tracking.

Useful for managing tasks

What do you like best? I like the ability to see project status across my entire team. Useful to see what's going on at the moment when we're all in different locations. I like that I can added tags to help keep things organized. Checklists are the best! What do you dislike? If there is not regular updating of the trello cards, things can become stagnant which can make things difficult. I'm not a huge fan of the app. With so many tasks, it can be difficult to use. I'd much rather just ...

Trello has been fully adopted by our team!

What do you like best? Trello is very easy to use. We have some folks that are truly non-technical and they use it without problem as well. It's simple, yet powerful and helps us organize our team to be more efficient and effective. What do you dislike? Nothing really, there is no feature function that I often think, "boy I wish Trello did ....". Besides, it is free for use. I've had Trello basic and Trello Gold and both are great. We are a small group, less than 50 staff and it works ...

A good way of assigning and listing out tasks, some formatting challenges

What do you like best? It's nice to have all of your unique project responsibilities laid out visually on a "card." What do you dislike? Multiple team member comments become overwhelming. Recommendations to others considering the product Try it on small projects with not a lot of team members, definitely not during the heat of a huge implementation. In fact, try it for your own individual tasks first. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you ...

Easily see what you need to do

What do you like best? Trello allows users to easily delegate and organize tasks across many projects, and the UI makes it very user friendly. What do you dislike? It can sometimes be overwhelming when lots of people are involved in one task - lots of mini icons everywhere. Recommendations to others considering the product Useful for both business and personal 'to do' items. Good for organizing many projects or tasks across multiple teams. What business problems are you solving ...

Trello: Great for Scrum

What do you like best? Trello makes project management extremely useful. Multiple boards can be created for various projects that need to be worked on and in these boards useful information can be listed with attachments and files. What do you dislike? At first when using Trello it was a bit difficult to use because there was no initial tutorial. I would love to have a video tutorial on how to use Trello better. Recommendations to others considering the product Great for startups to ...

Pretty good ticketing tool for a free site!

What do you like best? First and foremost, I like that it's free. It's a very simple program, but it's easy to use and easy to share with team members. What do you dislike? Well, because it's free, it has very little frills. My biggest annoyance is that you cannot create new paragraphs within tickets you create (i.e. holding down Shift+Enter or something to jump to the next line. Otherwise, it is very straightforward and helps you get your job done. Recommendations to others ...

Nifty!

What do you like best? Cloud-based, anywhere access. Friendly interface. Great-looking GUI. What do you dislike? Needs more granular options, like assigning sub-tasks to colleagues. One specific complaint: I'm able to type a comment and unless I press "Save" it won't post. There should be a prompt that says something like "You have unsaved changes on this page..." Recommendations to others considering the product Excellent FREE features! What business problems are you solving with ...

Great Project Management Tool

What do you like best? Trello is a great visual organizing tool. It has a variety of plug-ins and ways in which you can organize your lists. I like that I can make check-lists within projects, add links and images, deadlines, collaborators, etc. I also like that I can move the cards around. For instance, I use Trello to help me keep track of which stage of the project each action item is. I can drag my card from "In Progress" to "In Review" to "Completed" as I go along. I think it's been ...

I use Trello for everything!

What do you like best? The UI is very intuitive and the functionality just makes sense. The ability to collaborate with people, attach files, checklists and have a discussion across to do items and tasks is unmatched. What do you dislike? I wish they had a better way to see all tasks assigned to you across all cards in one place. Recommendations to others considering the product Think about how you're going to use it before you set it up and how tasks will be organized. They also ...
