Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. The search function doesn't cover archived cards, so ...Read more

Trello pros and cons

  • Easy for new and experienced users to operate with minimal setup time.

  • Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.

  • Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.

  • Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.

  • Limited capability for handling large or complex projects due to the lack of advanced features compared to specialized project management tools.

  • Archived tasks and boards are difficult to retrieve or review, causing frustration for long-term task tracking.

Good Product

What do you like best? What I like best is that it is a simple management app, it is very visual, inexpensive and uses plenty of mobile apps. What do you dislike? What I dislike is there are not a lot of features available available. Such as time tracking tools and reporting tools or maybe billing. Recommendations to others considering the product Adding a better reporting tool, Gantt charts and billing What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you ...

Trello is THE Game-Changer!

What do you like best? Trello has completely revolutionized our workflow... in an incredibly simple way! The magic of Trello is such that it is a very simple paradigm --- "a list of lists" as they say --- and it works amazingly well. We use it to organize not only every aspect of our software business, but practically of our life! Trello has all the features that you could need, and they are constantly innovating. Trello is equivalent to Excel, ubiquitous software that you cannot ...

Very Useful for Team Collaboration

What do you like best? I really like the ability to build boards to organize topics easily. I also like that it is easily to align certain people to certain boards for targeted collaboration. What do you dislike? I don't like that you can't truly "reply" to others' comments on boards, rather your comment goes into a feed just like a general comment. Seeing a "conversation" string would be a great enhancement. Recommendations to others considering the product I can only speak on ...

Trello Is A Visual System For Organizing Anything The Way You Want

What do you like best? The visual interface and flexibility of the system are my two favorite elements of Trello. On the visual side, the Trello experience is a pleasure to look at and interact with. They did a great job make it a powerfully positive user experience. The flexibility to create my own workflows and change them how and when I need to is a powerful attribute of the tool. Another powerful aspect of Trello is it's ability to morph elements into different ones. For example, ...

Great personal task management

What do you like best? I've been using Trello for years and am currently a Gold level member. The integrations both first-party and third-party are pretty handy. The Calendar and Card Aging add-ons are essential in helping me keep track of what tasks are due and which ones I need to follow up on. The UI is pretty, simple, and clear. I also like that there is the ability to create public and private boards as you see fit, and there's no limit on how many you can create. What do you ...

Simple way to communicate development progress to CEO

What do you like best? - Clean, easy to use interface so even the least technical people can figure out what's going. - Useful collaboration tools - Generous free plan. - Ideal What do you dislike? - This is not really a tool for managing development work in a team. Instead, use something like Jira. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use this to translate complex Jira boards to easily digestible roadmaps internally. ...

Nice visual layout, useful for getting an overview of tasks

What do you like best? I really appreciate Trello's GUI. The use of boards gives a clear view of all tasks that need to be worked on and their relative importance. It's also nice that the basic user is free with a number of sweet features, like unlimited boards, lists, cards, members, checklists, and attachments. What do you dislike? It would be nice to have more than one power-up for free users, but I understand that creating these features costs money and that Trello needs to get ...

Great multi-functional tool for marketing projects

What do you like best? Trello is one of the most flexible project management platforms I've ever used. You can use it for a multitude of projects. I use it to manage marketing projects and their various assets and due dates. What do you dislike? Minimal integration with other tools, such as calendars and online storage. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Needed a tool to help me manage an editorial calendar for a corporate ...

Great Product

What do you like best? It's incredibly simple and intuitive but also very powerful, and all of the plugins/powerups they offer are awesome. I would also recommend checking out their blog as they post some great stuff there. What do you dislike? Maybe it's just a little to inflexible, it would be nice if it had a little more customization options. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use it as a project management tool / scrum ...
