Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. The search function doesn't cover archived cards, so ...Read more

Trello pros and cons

  • Easy for new and experienced users to operate with minimal setup time.

  • Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.

  • Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.

  • Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.

  • Limited capability for handling large or complex projects due to the lack of advanced features compared to specialized project management tools.

  • Archived tasks and boards are difficult to retrieve or review, causing frustration for long-term task tracking.

I've used Trello to collaborate on the status of projects and events with external clients

What do you like best? I like this it is very list oriented and it's intuitive to use. It helps me stay organized when there are a lot of timelines and details that I am currently juggling. It helps to ensure, when working with a team, and a team that is not all based in the same office/organization, knows the status of various projects. Has helped us plan a lot of agendas for meetings. What do you dislike? I can't think of much, I wish there could be a bit more details in the lists ...

Simple, Easy to use project management

What do you like best? The card format Trello uses makes it easy to setup parts of a project and move them around as the project moves forward. We think about it like cards on our wall, but as a remote team it's like we are all looking at the same wall. It's easy to rearrange the cards as priorities and projects change. What do you dislike? Drilling into cards for the details can feel cumbersome. I'm waiting to see what they do now they have been aquired. I'm hoping nothing changes. ...

Great for creating boards for different groups/teams to track workflow

What do you like best? The ability to create separate boards, have checklists within these boards, and easily track who completed what and when is very helpful to us. I would say that trello is very good as a workflow software. It's also great for collaboration between teams, indicating where you are in a process, and also an easy glance at what is in the pipeline and what has already been completed. The ability to upload documents is awesome too since you can always easily reference ...

Simple Project/Task management with full collaboration

What do you like best? I like the simple layout of the cards and unlike in other applications of this type they are intuitive and simple to use. What do you dislike? It does not have a massive number of interfaces into other applications so the API is limited. The integration of Slack still needs some work. Recommendations to others considering the product Trial it first. Put away all of your perceptions of PPM and think "T" cards What business problems are you solving with the ...

Powerful tool with great possibilities

What do you like best? Simple to use. Anyone can find his own workflow of work. Great integration possibilities, for my case with Slack. There is a lot of guides online that you can look up and setup Trello for your scenario. What do you dislike? It's simple, some times to simple. Could have added other possibilities and functions. I did not notice any significant features updates since I started to use it. Would be great to have a time tracker implemented directly inside the solution. ...

Trello is my hub!

What do you like best? I love how simple Trello is to set up. The structure has enough power to get the job done, but the flexibility to fit into YOUR workflow, not the other way around. What do you dislike? I wish that Trello Business Class weren't so expensive, or that the pricing structure moved in groups of users (5-10, 11-15, etc, rather than charging per user. It would also be great if it integrated with microsoft products like OneDrive. Recommendations to others considering ...

Trello: Great for a taking a Brain dump

What do you like best? Trello uses a relatively simple interface and card based organization system to facilitate visual organization. It is easy to move and group items together and to collect ideas and make checklists. What do you dislike? Some options are hudden behind hard to find icons. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It's a great place for me to collect ideas for my comics

Stupid Simple Organization

What do you like best? Trello is very simple. Using it requires no training or reading help documentation, and on boarding clients, or colleagues is also very simple making it ideal for collaboration. What do you dislike? It was recently purchased by Atlassian, which makes me fear for the future of the free platform, as well as the core simplicity with new integrations. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Collaboration and ...

Trello - A visual to do app

What do you like best? I most like Trello's collaboration features, specifically teams, conversation streams, and google app integrations. I have used it to manage client work. It was a good central location to post items for client review and feedback. It was also a great place to brainstorm ideas with the client asynchronously using the board commenting feature. I like that you can have multiple boards with multiple cards and can grant access and permissions to all some or none. I have ...

Uniquely useful & not just for work

What do you like best? Trello allows me and my team to work in a kanban workflow and separate everything out to work the way we need to. we can move cards to other projects and between teams. it works very well for our needs. What do you dislike? I wish there was a way to make cards children of other cards, or at least related somehow. Currently there is no way to link cards together besides grouping them in lists. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits ...
