Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. The search function doesn't cover archived cards, so ...Read more

Trello pros and cons

  • Easy for new and experienced users to operate with minimal setup time.

  • Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.

  • Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.

  • Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.

  • Limited capability for handling large or complex projects due to the lack of advanced features compared to specialized project management tools.

  • Archived tasks and boards are difficult to retrieve or review, causing frustration for long-term task tracking.

Kanban board on Trello for SCRUM

What do you like best? Define a board for a project and the visibility of the board can be customized. Define lists and Each list would be a collection of cards. A card can a task to which the people were assigned and comments are added. The history of the card is visible. Can drag a card from a list and drop it into another. What do you dislike? Email notification for every activity on trello. No reports can be generated after a sprint is done. What business problems are ...

Trello frees up my mind to focus

What do you like best? I can work with team members with a free account! I like the flexibility and how easy it is to get started. It's great for capturing thoughts, email threads, deadlines, and more. What do you dislike? Haven't found anything. Of course I'd like more than one power-up for free, but it's a smart business strategy on their part to put that into the paid account. Recommendations to others considering the product They were just acquired but another firm, so lots of ...

My working day would be lost without it

What do you like best? Incredibly easy to use and very intuitive. What do you dislike? Very little, but you can't change the size of the tickets (or not that I have found so once you get passed a certain number of lists, you have to scroll to see it all Recommendations to others considering the product It is perfect for managing a team's load or even just managing your own work load. It is brilliant! What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you ...

Trello is the tops!

What do you like best? I love the ease of trello and how visual it is! Each card can easily be identified when scanning through boards. We can track our external projects for clients and well as internal workings of the company. It helps keep my creative team on track while giving them the freedom to upload their progress at their pace. What do you dislike? Communication sometimes gets jumbled in all the projects. It is very easy to archive or discard a card accidentally which has ...

Great to organize a number of tasks, events and issues!

What do you like best? The best feature is the cards experience on trello. Each and every card has a ton of features added to it, for example attachments come in very useful to find every related file at a single place. What do you dislike? While it helps me to track tasks and issues for a project, it does not provide a report like any other project management tool, if it had some feature which could help me export a report based on the tags and labels in use, it would be helpful. ...

Trello is my go-to program for coordination and tracking with my team

What do you like best? First off, Trello is free...which is absolutely incredible. Second off, Trello helps me create daily, weekly and monthly tasks. Moving them from point to point, I am not much more effective and efficient with my work and more effective in my accomplishments. But it doesn't just stop there. I now use it to monitor and manage my team as well. I can tag team members, set due dates, create checklists for each task and we can all see it. It's wonderful and I'm not ...

Beauty is in simplicity

What do you like best? Simple and intuitive interface, but customizable. Great project management platform; enables teams to collaborate [broad scope]. Great tool for individuals; use it to keep track of action items, prioritize, and switch seamlessly between tasks without losing a to-do in the mix. What do you dislike? For what I use it for it's perfect. For more complex projects requiring integration of many moving parts [getting down to granular level], I use an alternative PM ...

Not-so-beautiful interface, but easy to use and complete

What do you like best? Its best features: – checklists are excellent – boards, cards and due date are perfect to follow up every kind of project – team collaboration works quite good: sharing files is easy, and so commenting and reviewing project. By the way, a way to share only a single list instead of a full board would be better – perfect sync among devices, with almost instant update – customizable tags What do you dislike? – the interface is old and dusty, if ...
