Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. The search function doesn't cover archived cards, so ...Read more

Trello pros and cons

  • Easy for new and experienced users to operate with minimal setup time.

  • Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.

  • Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.

  • Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.

  • Limited capability for handling large or complex projects due to the lack of advanced features compared to specialized project management tools.

  • Archived tasks and boards are difficult to retrieve or review, causing frustration for long-term task tracking.

Trello Is Tremendous At Task Tracking

What do you like best? This is as close as you can get to an organized, tactile bulletin board for tracking tasks with layers of optional modifiers to use as you see fit. What do you dislike? Attaching photos will blow up in size and overtake space on your boards, when it would be preferable for them to be hidden within the cards you post. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Task and bug tracking for game development.

Great product for managing work flows

What do you like best? The overall board layout that gives you a clear view of where everything and everyone as at for each project or sprint. What do you dislike? As we grew and started managing both larger projects and at a much higher volume, Trello began to feel quite noisy and chaotic which made it more challenging to get an easy/quick overall view at a high level. Recommendations to others considering the product Start at a basic level when setting Trello up for the first ...

Useful, to a limit

What do you like best? The Trello interface allows for people to easily communicate on very discrete tasks in a usable interface. By installing useful Google Chrome plugins, the functionality also improves drastically. What do you dislike? The notification system and mobile apps aren't up to snuff at this point, and the usability of cards themselves (commenting, marking checklist items complete, etc. aren't great. Recommendations to others considering the product If you need ...

Trello Review

What do you like best? We use Trello for on boarding our new staff members and we've gotten great feedback from it. It's a great place to have a centralized location for something such as on boarding. What do you dislike? I wish it offered a little more functionality to it What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We have benefitted greatly from using it as task management and collaborating.
