Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. The search function doesn't cover archived cards, so ...Read more

Trello pros and cons

  • Easy for new and experienced users to operate with minimal setup time.

  • Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.

  • Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.

  • Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.

  • Limited capability for handling large or complex projects due to the lack of advanced features compared to specialized project management tools.

  • Archived tasks and boards are difficult to retrieve or review, causing frustration for long-term task tracking.

Minimum effort, max organization with Trello

What do you like best? Trello is amazing for people with lot of works, business and pretty much everything else going on in their lives. Creating to-do lists has never been so easy. The features are many and different, perfect to work with your co-worker remotely and to set deadlines in a large group of people at the same time. Surveys, comments, lists: these are just few of its very interactive features. An other tiny thing I like about Trello is the customization of your ...

Teamwork + Organization

What do you like best? Trello allows me to brainstorm and plan with team members across the organization without inundating my inbox with weighty emails. What do you dislike? It has yet to be implemented across the organization, so it's only one of multiple tools in use, which can be complicated. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We are using Trello to organize cross-functional planning. The platform allows us to tidy our ...

Basic, Easy, Consistent, Cheap

What do you like best? Trello is one of those programs that makes sense for a certain type of user. If you understand how Kanban works (or are comfortable with organization by bulletin board, and you're not looking for some kind of do-everything platform, you're probably going to love Trello. The thing I love best about it is how easy it is to find the pieces that make up my projects. Individual cards go into lists, which appear on boards. It's just as simple as pinning note cards to a ...

Trello keeps us sane!

What do you like best? Trello is a user-friendly organizational dream tool for list-makers, color-coders and anyone who needs to brain dump to-do steps or checklists on a regular basis. What do you dislike? I found Trello semi-limiting when creating/managing more in-depth/ complex projects. I have since transitioned to using Wrike for process-mapping larger team-ide projects and continue to use Trello for personal use, work checklists and annual reminders. Recommendations to others ...

Collaborative Project Management

What do you like best? I love that Trello gives a board view of the open tasks for me and my co-workers. We organize the board in the way that works best for the project and add comments, check-lists, etc. to each task we have on a list or board. It allows us to work collaboratively and definitely beats how we had been using excel before! What do you dislike? I have not found anything I dislike yet other than having to pay for the power-up integrations, but that is not a deal breaker ...

We're only using its basic features and already has major impact

What do you like best? Getting an overview of all tasks at hand for our development team is often hard. Visual kanban solutions work, but they require discipline and often show only high level details of the project at hand. It never helps project managers to grasp what is really going on. In detail that is. With Trello we have a solution that has kanban-alike features yet shows the details we like to see. What do you dislike? It has many possibilities we don't use and although UX-wise ...

Versatile organization tool

What do you like best? I like the wide variety of things you can do with Trello. I use it for as a more organized, powerful Pinterest for fashion/style inspiration. I use it for work as a daily planning tool, for issues I find, and reference materials. I use it to track a wishlist and purchases. The power-ups are just icing on the cake to further it's abilities. What do you dislike? It's not always clear how to manage things. There's a lot of options and abilities, but the organization ...

Sleek and easy to use.

What do you like best? The ease of labeling, moving, and tracking cards is what makes Trello stand out as a useful tool in our company. It's also great to see assigned due dates which become color-coded as the imminent date approaches, making it easy to spot and therefore giving you time to prioritize and organize your own calendar. What do you dislike? More customizations, such as the ability to change font and font size, would be great. Recommendations to others considering the ...

Best project dashboard for small to medium groups

What do you like best? Trello is very intuitive and nice looking dashboard. It has very customizable lists and cards with many options. There are a lot of "power-ups" that allows you to connect plugins and external services like calendars, github and many others. Nice time management with calendar and users alerts is useful also. And if you like to add some color to your life there are stickerpacks. What do you dislike? If your project group is really huge Trello is not for you. Its ...
