Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. The search function doesn't cover archived cards, so ...Read more

Trello pros and cons

  • Easy for new and experienced users to operate with minimal setup time.

  • Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.

  • Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.

  • Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.

  • Limited capability for handling large or complex projects due to the lack of advanced features compared to specialized project management tools.

  • Archived tasks and boards are difficult to retrieve or review, causing frustration for long-term task tracking.

A very quick and useful way to track projects and show project status to stakeholders

What do you like best? Ease of use. I like how fluid the software is and how accessible the features are. I can easily create cards, move them around, tag team members, assign due dates, etc. Within minutes I can create a team, load all of the task requirements, organize them the way I want, assign people to the right tasks, set deadlines, and let my staff work on the project without requiring me to chase them around. The software does it all for me and when they don't meet the ...

Project Management Made Easy

What do you like best? Trello is simple and has a great drag and drop interface for the team to use. The simplicity and effectiveness of Trello, with its very quick learning curve, allows teams to focus more on delivering and less on managing an overly complex project management system. It is great for task based projects where time tracking is not necessary. What do you dislike? Trello does not provide portfolio management and has very little benefit if projects need a time tracking ...

Easiest to use Kanban board

What do you like best? Mobile app - which is good. It loads fast, which is a plus. It's easy to use and supports russian. What do you dislike? No card priority, no deadlines, no subcards, no gantt chart. Recommendations to others considering the product Try it, it's fast and easy to use. You might feel it's lack of some other good functions that are present in Kanbanchi (e.g.. Mobile and team collaborations are good. Best thing is the integration with Slack. ...

Handy helper for everyone

What do you like best? I like the clean interface, easy-to-use features, and live updates on the app. What do you dislike? Sometimes it can get annoying that Trello tracks every single movement of a card; makes the feed look messy. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use Trello for project management with our designer who works in remotely. We are able to track his progress as well as insert new projects for him to begin and ...

No more dropped tasks, organizes both work and personal to-do's

What do you like best? Almost no learning curve so it's fast to invite new team members to a board and get them started. The mobile app works very well so that I can add to-do's immediately when I learn about them, before I forget. Less bells and whistles than some other task management platforms, but that keeps it lean and fast to use. What do you dislike? I would like more templates/structure for cards. I can copy checklists across cards, but have to manually copy and paste text ...

Too complicated :/

What do you like best? I do not really like anything about Trello. :( It may just be a matter of personal taste, it was never convenient to me. No hard feelings! What do you dislike? The fact that everything seems so complicated on an application which is supposed to be used for co-ordination Recommendations to others considering the product For me the main problem is that everything looks messy and complicated. It also lacks features and what you can do feels to be pretty ...

Super flexible and easy to use

What do you like best? Trello serves a wide range of purposes for our business. It's flexibility and ease of use ensure we recommend it again and again. The API is good too - we've built a couple of in-house tools off it. What do you dislike? Occasionally annoying when trying to add lots of cards all at the same time. Recommendations to others considering the product Jump in and try it. Easy to get started. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have ...

One of the most valuable pieces of software I use

What do you like best? The simplicity and subtle incredible potential is amazing. It allows a tremendous amount of flexibility for how simple and user friendly it is. It's hit a balance second to none. What do you dislike? The cost of Business Class. Since it's a product that works even better with teams, to add business class to a team project gets expensive. That's ok if that's your main project management software, but for anything else it's a bit expensive. Recommendations to ...

Easy-to-use task organization

What do you like best? I like that Trello is very intuitive to use, it is highly customizable but not overwhelming. What do you dislike? There could be more versatility with the user interface; the columns could be stacked as opposed to extending horizontally. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I use it for task delegation for a team of 10-15 people; it's the simplest way to make sure all bases are covered.
