Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. The search function doesn't cover archived cards, so ...Read more

Trello pros and cons

  • Easy for new and experienced users to operate with minimal setup time.

  • Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.

  • Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.

  • Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.

  • Limited capability for handling large or complex projects due to the lack of advanced features compared to specialized project management tools.

  • Archived tasks and boards are difficult to retrieve or review, causing frustration for long-term task tracking.

Great tool to keep your team organized.

What do you like best? It's so easy to create cards, add tasks and assign users to cards. Moreover, the card wall view provides a great big picture view of your team's work and progress. It's also very easy to move between different teams card walls which are very handy. What do you dislike? I think it would be handy to have a better to archive old messages, for example, archive messages by project and quarter. This would make doing year-end reviews much easier. Recommendations to ...

Flexible and easy on the go project or list management

What do you like best? Trello works well for just organizing your own activities or those of a team. Deceptively simple, you create projects boards and tasks and can move anything anywhere with simple drag and drop. Tasks can even contain checklists within them, so that means you can nest many layers of lists in your tasks. It also allows team features and collaboration. Great for everything from simple home/work to-do lists, through managing team projects to Agile Scrum Story Boards ...

There is no choice to customize the flows withing columns is quite and straight approach Recommendations to others considering the product A easy tool for project planning. But maybe the tool is too open so is not going to provide guidance. You need to setup and adjust for your needs. What business ...

FINALLY found a process that works.

What do you like best? We started using Trello to bridge the gap between our Graphic Design team getting project requests from our Marketing team. There are lots of things I like about it, but my favorite part would be the transparency. Granted, the platform is as good as you make it, and we have a great set up of "stages." Each card is a graphic design project, and each column represents how far along it is. It's great to see at a glance where my project is, and when I can expect it to ...

Great management tool for remote teams

What do you like best? I can easily provide direction, feedback, and links on all tasks. You can add cards (tasks very quickly when you need/have an idea, and later come back and fill in more information. Prioritization is really easy - you just drag and drop cards into the column you want - ie Next Up, Current Sprint, Ideas. And it has a great free version! What do you dislike? You have to click into each board to see tasks. It would be great to see your boards/tasks all together in ...

Wonderfully flexible and user-friendly tool

What do you like best? How flexible it is in being a simple to-do list task manager, to being able to create a framework of flow within an agile or project management methodology. What do you dislike? Business class pricing is expensive and free version has limitations that pressure purchasing business class to enable what can only be done after purchasing. Recommendations to others considering the product Start off using it as a personal to-do list for your personal life. Then, ...

Trello for Organization

What do you like best? I like the option of having different boards for different users and being able to add users on to cards. The checklist function is also very useful and the labels you can add to cards. What do you dislike? This appllication needs some way to incorporate a calendar of systems. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use this to solve our database correction issues to keep in contact with the administrator ...

Despite its limitations, it''s simple and appealing to the eyes.

PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? What I liked about Trello is how visually appealing it is nad how it's so simple to use. You can customzie its appearance while its drag-and-drop UI is intuitive. What aspects are problematic or could work better? I hate not being to close out tickets. Instead, you're left to archive them without marking them as "finished." What specific problems in your company were solved by this product? My colleagues are using their ...
