Spotsaas Editor’s POV
Trello's Kanban boards work well for task tracking and team collaboration, but assess your actual needs before committing. The free plan caps you at one Power-Up per board and lacks advanced reporting—if you need burndown charts, custom fields, or detailed workload analytics, you'll hit these limits quickly. The search function doesn't cover archived cards, so ...Read more
Trello pros and cons
Easy for new and experienced users to operate with minimal setup time.
Excellent tool for task organization with Kanban-style boards, drag-and-drop functionality, and customizable labels.
Supports team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and task delegation in remote or shift-based work environments.
Supports project tracking with features like checklists, due dates, color-coded alerts, and real-time updates to enhance productivity and clarity.
Limited capability for handling large or complex projects due to the lack of advanced features compared to specialized project management tools.
Archived tasks and boards are difficult to retrieve or review, causing frustration for long-term task tracking.

Trello's modularity makes it good for so many use cases
What do you like best? It's super easy to set up a board and collaborate on it. What do you dislike? I don't like the linear horizontal aspect. Boards could end up going on forever to the right, which makes them hard to manage. Recommendations to others considering the product You can't beat the cost and usability of Trello. Pretty much everyone can understand how it works. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use Trello for ...

A Good Platform for Team Coordination
What do you like best? My favorite feature is that projects and cards can have select audiences. This way, my colleagues and I can each have our own place to coordinate personal efforts with our supervisor that nobody else can see, while still maintaining team project boards. What do you dislike? I wish there was a way for me to integrate a Trello plugin with my ticketing system so that I didn't have to make updates in two places. Recommendations to others considering the product ...

Encourages collaboration
What do you like best? The ability to automatically send emails onto tasks to ensure all information is up to date. What do you dislike? There are tonnes of features that aren't obvious, and reading through how-to guides aren't always the most efficient with time. If more functionality was available from the drop downs that would solve this. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We used to use post-it notes to track progress with ...

For serious users only
What do you like best? Trello has an amazing ability to make organising projects easily. Trello handles complex informational structures and informationally challenging actions and transforms them into a simple visual solution. It's great for left and right brainer's alike! It means that the whole team can understand exactly whats going on, with a simple glance. What do you dislike? No multi-select/edit of cards and paid add-ons really grind my goat. Not a big fan of those two ...

Trello is an easy way to organize a geographically dispersed team
What do you like best? The ability to create checklists for one-off projects or regular tasks (onboarding new employees, for example helps me keep a geographically dispersed team organized, plus the built-in accountability of the entire team having access to a board and seeing who has or has not completed their action items is immeasurably helpful. What do you dislike? Honestly? Nothing. We has some implementation issues in terms of creating buy-in from the staff, but I have had no ...

Excellent way to prioritize and keep yourself organized
What do you like best? I love how easy it is to use. Being able to drag "notes" from one column to another makes everything so simple. Also, being able to share your boards is incredible. What do you dislike? There isn't much I dislike, although having templates could be really useful. Recommendations to others considering the product I would definitely recommend Trello, even for a one person company it's incredible helpful in order to keep yourself organized and on task. What ...

Not quite what we needed
What do you like best? It was easy to figure out and simple to use. What do you dislike? It really only seemed useful for website work, which is only a portion of what we do at my company. Recommendations to others considering the product Might be best for people who work in sprints, rather than waterfall. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We were trying to figure out a better way to manage tasks / resources and keep ...

Easy Drag and Drop Project Management
What do you like best? Easy to create columns can be customized with project stages or assigned users, and tasks can easily be set up as cards that can be dragged and dropped as stages are completed. What do you dislike? There are some things that could be more robust like due dates on checklist items within a card - but that is easily worked around. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I use Trello to manage marketing campaigns ...
