Effective Scheduling Tool Depending On Project Scope & Size

What do you like best? Helps Subcontractor coordination & manpower planning. What do you dislike? Technology is challenging for veteran experienced skilled tradesman. They don't want "another" software to learn, so the GC has to allocate more time managing another subcontractors schedule for them. Recommendations to others considering the product Ensure the software will be beneficial for your project/ scope. Small detailed projects with specialty subs onsite for small durations won't ...

Touchplan Review

What do you like best? Easy to use, lots of features to edit/find/color code. I can easily update the schedule and see updates that come in. There is also room for multiple project schedules so I can zoom into one aspect or feature of the project at a given time. What do you dislike? Some tools not yet available (in development. I have reached out to Touchplan's help desk and they have submitted the need for additional features. Their online tech support has been very helpful and they ...

Great Pull Planning Software

What do you like best? TouchPlan has made it so that we can ask our subcontractors/vendors for input on building their tasks into our overall project schedule. They prep this information ahead of time and we can all sit down together to build our schedule. It's a very lean process and has eliminated the need for us to transcribe information from conference room walls into a digital format - the record schedule is being created in real time. The software is fairly intuitive and easy to ...

We ended up using Bluebeam, since more industry partners are using Bluebeam.

What do you like best? Ease and mobile platform. It was easy to use among new users and collaboration between the field and the office. What do you dislike? Cost. It was nice to be able to create quick edits in the field, but we needed a more robust system to use for our document management and markups for our design-build partners. Recommendations to others considering the product Could bring the cost down by just going to a mobile platform? This would be great for all of our ...

Saves time and gets everybody involved.

What do you like best? I like that i do not have to calculate the PPCs by hand or using a spreadsheet What do you dislike? It does not have an app which would be useful for when out in the field where I don't have my computer Recommendations to others considering the product I would say that this touch plan works great and is easy to use and will save time. It also gets the subcontractor involved so they are not just listening to the superintendents. What business problems are you ...
