Spotsaas Editor’s POV

TeamViewer's free tier is genuinely useful for occasional personal remote access—screen sharing, file transfer, and unattended access all work without payment limits. The interface is straightforward: connect, authenticate, control. For business use, the paid plans ($49–$99/month depending on features) add session recording, multi-monitor support, and priority ...Read more

  • Reliable and stable performance, ensuring stable and uninterrupted connections even over long distances.

  • Convenient for remote troubleshooting, aiding users in helping elderly or less tech-savvy family members.

Helping a non technical friend once per month with windows updates and image backup.

I use Teamviewer about once a month to help a long distance friend of mine perform her windows updates. She can "use" the computer effectively, but lacks the skills and confidence to do windows updates (group policy editor) and image backup. Teamviewer is just the perfect tool for this task - straightforward for her to use with excellent performance. This is a non business activity - just me helping a friend about once a month for a few minutes.

Free licence permits support of 97 year old father

I only have a free licence but it enables me to support my 97 year old father who continually messes up his computer by doing things which he promptly forgets about. Or he gets spam emails that he doesn't know how to delete. Thank you Teamviewer for giving me the means to remotely help my father.
