A visualization is worth 1,000 words

What do you like best? Tableau makes it easy to take my data, combine it with other data, and create a visualization that really tells a story. There are so many things that are easy to see in a visualization of the data that are very difficult to see in the raw data. Tableau allows me to easily create complex filters so that I can hone in on just the data I need. What do you dislike? Navigating a visualization isn't as intuitive as it could be. One of our visualization is a map and ...

Why use Tableau for visual reporting

What do you like best? Easily accessible anytime/anywhere for clients, automated a lot of manual updated to charts and graphs in excel that were pdf and emailed out. More robust visualization of data and metrics that were not available in excel, SAS or business objects What do you dislike? some of the functionality that was easy to create/change in excel has to be manipulated in Tableau to get the same results Recommendations to others considering the product Evaluate the time and ...

Tableau Review

What do you like best? I like the clean way the data can be visualized and it can be shared easily with others. What do you dislike? I don't like the data manipulation it takes and it does not plug directly into SAS. You have to stage the work somewhere else and then pull it in or export it to excel. This can be time consuming. Recommendations to others considering the product Utilize Google for answers as there is not enough wide use of the product yet to streamline learning for most ...

Great app for tabulating survey data

What do you like best? I love how detailed the customization capabilities are. In addition to the customization, you have the ability to drill down to very specific details regarding specific pieces of information gathered through the survey questions. What do you dislike? It takes a lot of effort to get everything set up to where you can gain meaningful insights from the data gathered. Also, it tends to be a little slow when bringing up results to review for different options - although ...

The Application Is Very Good But The Constant Updates For Desktop Version Are Annoying

PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? I knew this service from the academic field and then I was able to transfer it to the workplace. Excellent tool for data capture, processing and visualization. The application of statistical models on the data that is displayed is very useful and this is not complicated. What hooked me with this service was undoubtedly the combination of very pleasant and interactive graphical visualizations along with the application of advanced ...

Sleazy Sales & Poor Customer Service

What do you like best? Overall, the product itself has given us what we need but dealing with the support has been a nightmare. Definitely test using their trial offer. We found the integration to be fairly straightforward and were able to get up and running after only a couple of hours of work. The product has some UI issues but is robust and functions well for our needs. If you buy, just hope that you don't have to deal with customer service or a sales rep. What do you dislike? Our ...

Great way to scale your insights, some good and some bad

What do you like best? Ability to drag-and-drop to create visuals was great, ability to iterate/change a chart was very simple, drilldowns through "Actions" was very cool once you learned it What do you dislike? Cant edit a query for a Published data-source which makes it less flexible than I needed it to be, tough to get formatting the way you want it. Recommendations to others considering the product Tableau has a great User Community so definitely leverage them and their resources as ...

Great way to visualize data

What do you like best? Tableau is one of the coolest programs I have ever used. It is not only a great tool for presentation of large data sources, but also extremely powerful for data analysis. The amount of functions built in are truly endless. Additionally, the ability to pull from all types of data sources in a huge plus. In our organization, we use Tableau for productivity, sales, and improvement analysis. The ability to have visualizations updated on the hour gives our entire ...
