A critical piece of the security layer

What do you like best? DLP is a great surveillance and automation layer for a security stack. It doesn't replace other tools like firewalls, etc...but it absolutely does help you find and prevent bad situations before they become public bad situations. It's also great for educating users on how to elevate themselves in to a more secure environment. What do you dislike? DLP is powerful, but it really doesn't have a great intuitive feel. It's easy to create policies you think are robust ...

Good product, but lacks some good enterprise features

What do you like best? The product family (although expensive) and the ability to manage the family from one console with the same DLP policies and rules. What do you dislike? Very complex to implement DLP policies and rules for endpoints without the other product-family components like the mail-gateway. Some simple things that would make things far more simple and less complex aren't even implemented yet. Recommendations to others considering the product: If you're an ...

Made a great deal of protecting our encrypted files over our local and offshore databases

What do you like best? Symantec offers one of the best network DLP solutions so far available. The Network Monitor component is the most advanced on the market. You integrate with the other Network DLP components like Prevent for Web, Prevent for Email, Discover and Prevent. I also find the Data Insight component a very valuable feature that allows the client to have full visibility into the company data. Data Insight is a very good component that raises the standard DLP functions and ...

Of of the leaders in endpoint protection

Centrally managed business endpoint security, provides both virus protection and advanced threat protection, secures devices from both known and unknown malware, great security audit custom report, nice and clean user interface What do you dislike? Mostly enterprise oriented, very limited offers and pretty expensive for small companies Recommendations to others considering the product: Speak with a representative and request a demo, it will help with ...

A Great Protection Tool

What do you like best? The Symantec Data Loss Prevention software's best feature is that it has protection for mobile devices and mobile emails too, so it's not just about ensuring desktops, which is what I assumed at first. What do you dislike? There could be some improvements to the reporting tool so we can find some more advanced techniques, such as report grouping for incidents. Recommendations to others considering the product: Any company that requires data protection ...

Excellent Protection

What do you like best? I love that it's constantly working in the background, meaning you wouldn't even notice it's there, unless something gets scanned. A lot of customisations and options to alter it to exactly what you need. What do you dislike? There is quite a bit of refining needed because sometimes flags come up even though the files aren't malicious. So there is a bit of work to be done to make sure we don't have to panic every time. Recommendations to others considering ...

Runs in the background, no need to do much

What do you like best? Symantec runs in the background of your computer, and you do not need to do much to make sure it is doing its job. It provides antivirus, antispyware, browser protection, email protection, a smart firewall, and more. You are able to check the status of your device at any time, as it has a user-friendly tray icon making it easy to find if you forget the spelling (or even the name) of this product. Most users have no need to "use" the product, and simply need to allow ...

Comprehensive data loss prevention suite

What do you like best? ePolicy Orchestrator's interface was simple and easy to use. Documentation is thorough. What do you dislike? Documentation is not visual, which means that steps that could be explained with a picture are more lengthily explained with description. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Phone and online support have been very prompt, so I haven't lost a lot of time waiting on hold.
