The customer service and integration support is terrible
Like others, I have had an awful experience with SumUp support. The live chat agents have been far from helpful when trying to get an application enabled for the payments scope but instead I have been directed to email the integrations team which I have done multiple times with no response. I have clients that use SupUp for their POS solution some of who now will be switching to our other payment integrations as SumUp have been terrible to deal with.

I’m annoyed that I have to leave 1star…
I’m annoyed that I have to leave 1star when I want to leave zero stars. Modern day thieves that have closed my account down with no explanation and have stole my money that hard work was done to earn it, and now staff wages can’t get paid hence closing my business down. Talking on the phone, I might as well being speaking a foreign language, no help at all, send an email which no one responds to. What an absolute joke of a company

What an absolute nightmare!
I was very happy with SumUp and was charging a client with the card reader for the past four months. It was great until they decided to close my account for no reason whatsoever. I received an e-mail from the security team saying my account was closed. I sent an e-mail back but received no answer, so I decided to open another profile so I could charge my client, and now they not only closed my account, but they also kept the money I charged my client. A customer made a payment totalling £14,000 nearly 3 weeks ago. Transaction ID..TC2PVLTTAA About an hour after the payment was made (13/03/23, I received an email from security@sumup asking me to provide information regarding the payment for fraud reasons I suspect. Absolutely terrible customer service
Absolutely terrible customer service! I don’t run a business, I’m a taxi driver and have a sum up reader in my car to take payments. I transfer the money from my sum up account to my personal bank account whenever I need to use it. Waited days after highlighting fraud. No help.
Someone fraudulently stole money for a phantom purchase. Item and seller disappeared 24 hours after my purchase. Despite immediately contacting the company on March 9th, I received only a generic response and had to write again seeking progress and my money back on March 13th. MCS4QYS9 SumUp is a scam of a company. We had an event on 25 March 2023 and took card payments of over £6k and they said someone claimed charge back£150. We choose for them to keep the money for 3 months. Until the 27th May 2023 After 3 months no charge backs but they are ignoring emails and customer service is useless. Sum Up - 'Computer Says No!' Policy
Other than the battery running down quickly, our first year's experience was good. We did not use our sum up air that often, however, and were surprised on taking it out of the box in which it was kept, to discover an error message on start up, telling us to contact customer service and they would replace it. Appalling company - avoid
I bought a machine for a charitable group that fund raise to help girls do the Duke of Edinburgh and other similar activities. We paid £99.99 and used it for two events a year apart taking a total of £110.11. When I plugged it in to charge for the next event, it showed an error message and said contact Customer Services who would provide a new machine.
