The best way to communicate in a distributed team
What do you like best? - It is easy and intuitive. - The desktop version is amazing, it permits you to manage multiple teams (if you are in more than one), it doesn't eat the resources and it is really fast. - It has a ton of integrations with a lot of different services, so it is easy to extend - You can use it even if you are a single person, using it as a collector for notifications through its integrations - Permits to have private and public channels, and you can ...

I liked it but it distracts from real work communication
What do you like best? I love that you're able to send quick messages and not have to call, text or email someone and risk not hearing back. What do you dislike? I do not like that sometimes conversations naturally get carried away and theres no good tracking system, or ways to flag messages to review later. Recommendations to others considering the product: We switched to GChat but both are fine. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you ...

Slack - seems useful but need to see more
What do you like best? I used Slack during the recent political campaigs as a grass roots volunteer. I found it intuitive with my only previous exposure to a product like this was MS Yammer. My role was as a genearl volunteer where I had to use different channels for different tasks and also as a volunteer leader where I added new users to channels and moderated some channels to look for problems. I also liked the direct message capabilty and the ability to tag users to highlight ...

The Perfect App for Team Collaboration
What do you like best? The basic functionality of Slack is great but I love that I can integrate it with the rest of my software stack so messages/alerts are posted within specific channels notifying me of events happening elsewhere. I also like the "Shared Channels" functionality that allows multiple companies to connect their Slack accounts for efficient communication. What do you dislike? There's not a whole lot to complain about. It's sometimes annoying that gifs don't expand ...

Slack Is Our Office
What do you like best? Slack is the perfect tool for a distributed team to organize communication. I like how easy it is to create dedicated channels for specific teams to collaborate within, and it's really easy to post photos to our Daily Pet channel. Team members can add or leave the channels that are most relevant - it's really kind of amazing how we have structured and built our company culture around Slack. The mobile App is lightweight fast, and easy to navigate. What do ...

A necessary tool for the COVID workplace
What do you like best? Slack is an amazing tool for communication, with the ability to break conversations up into logical groups. We’ve avoided many meetings and emails just by using Slack. What do you dislike? Unless you pay, there’s a limit to how much Slack will store. Running into those storage limits can be a pain, and besides maintaining that history, there’s not much reason to update. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? ...
