Are you using Sketch?
Spotsaas Editor’s POV
Sketch is macOS and iPad only—if your team uses Windows or Linux, you'll need a separate tool or browser-based alternative for those users. The color picker has a known lag when sampling from external applications, which matters if you're matching brand palettes frequently. Before committing, verify in a demo that Sketch's component system (symbols) works for ...Read more

Sketch review
What do you like best? I like how it does not slow down my computer. It is a very light program in that sense. It allows for easy exporting of various sizes which is very helpful. What do you dislike? I dislike that when you copy a folder it does not version it up. I also dislike how hard it is to autoselect something that is within a grouped folder. I also dislike that it does not auto update objects that have been linked from outside programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator etc. In ...

The best way to design for web and apps
What do you like best? I like that Sketch has similar features to what I've been used to with Adobe products. I also like that design elements can be turned into symbols and reused throughout my design. When one's look is updated, they're all updated. I've only been using Sketch for a few weeks, but I can already see how much more efficient it is to design interfaces than using Adobe software. There is also tons of helpful articles and plugins available for Sketch to make the automation ...

Move over Photoshop, there's a new superhero in town
What do you like best? I love the ease of use. I went from not understanding the program to a week later being proficient and completely replacing photoshop as my preferred method of mockups and wireframes. It's the best thing to happen to me as an emerging designer in the digital space. What do you dislike? The one thing I've found challenging is the error in their eps format. I can't export into illustrator as easily as I would like to. Recommendations to others considering the ...

Lightweight tool made for UI design
What do you like best? It's generally faster to get up & running building screens in Sketch than on any Adobe program. Large files with multiple screens also tend to run more smoothly than they would in Photoshop. What do you dislike? Working with type has always been finicky, but the biggest problem is vector drawing. It's not designed to be a drawing tool, but it either needs to improve there since I often need simple icons and other shapes and bringing them in from Illustrator is ...
