Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Sketch is macOS and iPad only—if your team uses Windows or Linux, you'll need a separate tool or browser-based alternative for those users. The color picker has a known lag when sampling from external applications, which matters if you're matching brand palettes frequently. Before committing, verify in a demo that Sketch's component system (symbols) works for ...Read more

Great Software!

What do you like best? The cool thing about this is that you can simplify creating wireframes. I primarily use it for that purpose and I mainly need to create more than one page with lots of different content. you can also create smart objects that can be updated for all other pages which is something that I like a lot What do you dislike? I do not like how you need to do to replicate content or update stuff for the stuff I am creating. I create websites which need to look similar in ...

Basically Photoshop and Illustrator in one

What do you like best? What I like best about Sketch is its vector-based workflow. It has the ease of Photoshop, which is software I'm very familiar with, and everything is vector-based which allows for seamless scaling and pixel perfect designs. What do you dislike? The only qualm I have is clicking and dragging. For example, in Photoshop I have the "Auto-select" feature turned off so I can precisely select the assets I want to use. In Sketch, it does take some getting used to, but ...

Purpose built UI design tool that does the job perfectly.

What do you like best? It's intuitive. I though the different design philosophy to Photoshop was going to take a while to get used to, but instead it was a release from more bloated programs. The program is really light and performant too. On top of that, the plugins save a crazy amount of time and really let you build your own workflow within the program piece by piece. What do you dislike? The lack of a windows version is a little frustrating when collaborating, Adobe XD could be ...

Interface Designers BFF

What do you like best? I've used sketch from the beginning and the product still amazes with every update that comes out. The CSS attributes feature is amazing and I use it daily with my dev team when they need colors and gradients from my designs. What do you dislike? There are some bugs with each release but they tend to get fixed pretty quickly. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? In my early days of Web Design I was mainly using ...

Sketch is the best web layout tool.

What do you like best? I like being able to set up styles like in InDesign, be able to work in vectors like in illustrator, but be able to be pixel perfect like in photoshop. What do you dislike? I think it may be oversimplified. Sometimes it seems that obvious tools should be easy to find but they end up being a bit burried. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Web design layouts are more efficient in Sketch than in photoshop.

Seemless program

What do you like best? I love that sketch is intuitive and so easy to use What do you dislike? I dislike the inability to customize. There are not many key command shortcuts and I would like to customize them - which is something you can do with adobe products. Recommendations to others considering the product: Watch youtube videos when you don't know how to do something. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I love how easy it is to ...

Excellent Design Software

What do you like best? I love the simplicity and straightforwardness of the software; its a great alternative to Adobe PS. What do you dislike? Nothing so far! It meets all of my requirements; I wish there was a free to do like a "free-snip" but perhaps there is more for me to learn. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Instead of using a wire framing software, I can create and bust them out in sketch within seconds.

Great Program

What do you like best? I like the ease of use. I picked up this program with no prior instruction or knowledge and it was pretty easy to learn. What do you dislike? The button feature is a bit odd. I especially find the editing the text within the button to be most frustrating. It doesn't always scale properly. Recommendations to others considering the product: Start with the Trial and get used to the program. I recommend diving in even with just a mock design just to get a feel for ...

Fantastic digital design software

What do you like best? Love the intuitive interface and speed of interaction. Love exporting and the power of the SDK and how great the plugins are. Love the speed of the software. Love the frequency of updates. Love symbols and nested symbols. You guys rock! What do you dislike? I wish there was an official "hub" for sketch plugins! I also wish Sketch Mirror was more dependable and that there was some built-in support for features like content duplication. I also wish Sketch handled ...

Incredible Design Tool, I Only Wish I'd Have Made the Switch Earlier

What do you like best? Sketch has some powerful plug-ins with the ability to connect to tools like InVision and Zeplin. What do you dislike? If Sketch supported multiple users with same-time design ability, it would be the icing on the cake. Recommendations to others considering the product: Make sure to read up on how to get started. There are a lot of tips and tricks out there. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? With Sketch, my ...
