Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Sketch is macOS and iPad only—if your team uses Windows or Linux, you'll need a separate tool or browser-based alternative for those users. The color picker has a known lag when sampling from external applications, which matters if you're matching brand palettes frequently. Before committing, verify in a demo that Sketch's component system (symbols) works for ...Read more

Good tool, but not worth leaving Adobe for

What do you like best? Sketch has some nice intuitive features that make it great for web and UX, such as easy paste in place, unlimited canvas, ability to create pages and icon duplication. What do you dislike? A lot of features do not work as robustly as their Photoshop/Illustrator counterparts, so while I do like Sketch, it's now just another tool I'm paying for. It's not always super congruent to switch between Sketch and Adobe. Recommendations to others considering the product: ...

Sketch is the only design tool you'll need!

What do you like best? It doesn't matter if you are a freelance designer or work for a huge agency. Sketch can do it all - from branding to wireframing to app design layout. One of my favorite things about Sketch is how intuitive it is to use. Compared to all of the legacy bloat of competitive products, Sketch is a breath of fresh air. Also, the component capabilities in later versions have totally revolutionized how we produce mocks. What do you dislike? I love everything about the ...

I love Sketch and it's improved my workflow soooooo much

What do you like best? It's a super well thought out program, specifically for web / interface design. It's got prototyping included, which is awesome. It makes it super easy to design multiple screensizes in one document, and very easy to export images. I really love the fact that it gives you the CSS for the type as well. It also makes it easy to repeat text styles and symbols, and edit every instance of them afterword. It's greatly improved my workflow. What do you dislike? I ...

Easiest way for design

What do you like best? I like how user friendly the layout is. You can see everything from the main page. What do you dislike? The artboards and layers can get a bit confusing. Also hard to select some layers when they are over lapped in an art board. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Design. It is very easy to create, import, and export images.

Simple to Use for all your wireframing and prototyping needs

What do you like best? Sketch’s learning curve was much easier than that of the adobe creative suite. Sketch makes it so simple to create elegant and efficient designs, prototypes, and iconography. I can see why they say that Sketch was created for designers BY designers. What do you dislike? Some of the functions may be limiting, so I always supplement the functions that I cannot perform in Sketch with other softwares such as photoshop or illustrator. Recommendations to others ...

Efficient tool for designing wireframes and prototypes

What do you like best? I like being able to have symbol libraries to make designing my wireframes and prototypes efficiently. What do you dislike? We have struggled as a team to find an easy way to share our symbol library with one another, and have it automatically update as each individual adds to the library. Recommendations to others considering the product: It also integrates with other tools that designers often use, such as Zeplin or InVision. What problems are you ...

I highly recommend this tool, it is simple and it has small learning curve

PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? First of all, this tool is extremely simple and easy to use. I tried other products similar to this one but Sketch was second to none when it comes to web and app designings. It has simple learning curve and it can be used even by non professional users. What aspects are problematic or could work better? Sometimes the clicking and double clicking is hard to control but this is because I used to work in Adobe and I used to click alt ...

Many tools are emerging, but only Sketch does the right thing

What do you like best? The simplicity, integration . with other apps, and mainly the plugins that give a certain customisation for each type of user. Symbols are one of the best things on Sketch and helps to create a really good Design System by applying Atomic Design concept. Layout and Grid settings are great for creating a high standard design.. What do you dislike? Sketch still misses the rich interactive elements. It's implemented a way to prototype between one screen and ...

Does all I need but user's experience could be better

What do you like best? The biggest advantage of Sketch is its performance compared to Adobe CC products. Thanks to it's simpliticy, I can quickly create my designs. I really appreciate working with components, which saves me a lot of time. What do you dislike? Altough the UI is great, there are some flaws when compared to similar products like Figma. When working on my touchpad, working with layers panel and selecting objects is quite overwhelming. Sketch feels very smooth, but ...
