Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Sketch is macOS and iPad only—if your team uses Windows or Linux, you'll need a separate tool or browser-based alternative for those users. The color picker has a known lag when sampling from external applications, which matters if you're matching brand palettes frequently. Before committing, verify in a demo that Sketch's component system (symbols) works for ...Read more

One of many good UI optios

What do you like best? Sketch was the first UI focused program that I ever used - and though it took some adjustments, once I got the hang of it, I couldn't go back to designing interfaces in photoshop. What do you dislike? Dealing with vectors and type can be difficult. They are continuing to improve. Biggest complaint is for sure not being able to "drag to scale" text Recommendations to others considering the product: There are a lot of tools available at this point. I'd consider ...

Wonderful design program

What do you like best? Love the easy to use layout features. This is extremely easy to pick up and move. What do you dislike? It doesn't interact with any alone products to collaborate with. Recommendations to others considering the product: Adobe collaborating would be really helpful for after effects What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use this for beginners who are using the graphic design

Decent tool for UX Design

What do you like best? Highly professional tool for UX Design and recognised in the design industry worldwife What do you dislike? It does not have the feature of auto-animation the way Adobe XD does and it is a little less user friendly to new users compared to XD. Recommendations to others considering the product: Although there are other product design tools in the market, Sketch is one of the most well-recognised one compared to Figma, Adobe XD, UXPIN etc. It would be good to ...

Solid design program that is firmly established

What do you like best? Sketch is an easy to use program that supports a robust community of plugins. The company backing Sketch is constantly rolling out updates to keep the platform competitive which is good because there are other programs on the market. Cost is reasonable for a year's worth of updates. Sketch does make it fairly easy to build reusable components but the system could be easier to manage. What do you dislike? Finding supported plugins can be frustrating. I also ...

You can finally ditch adobe for your UX design!

What do you like best? Sketch is lightweight (in terms of impact on your machine. So gone are the days of massive photoshop or illustrator files for your UX and UI design. Sketch is focused on the work I do and helps me quickly create pixel-perfect designs for my dev team! What do you dislike? The Creative Cloud has figured something out that Sketch has not, username licensing. The license is per machine, which makes working remote a little tough, if I don't have my machine, I am ...

Tool responsible for keeping the business running.

What do you like best? How easy it is to design a prototype and send it to your client. What do you dislike? The biggest thing I dislike is Sketch not being PC compatible, this would make life easier for some clients. Recommendations to others considering the product: Try it out for 30-days free. The biggest mistake most people make is not learn the shortcuts and tricks, which there are many on Sketch. To fully take advantage of sketch and see how powerful it is for your business, ...

Draw it, Make it, Sketch it!

What do you like best? Its unreasonably the best tool for graphic designers to make the best icons as SVGs with no pixellation. It has way too many options to make the visual design (VD of the website. What do you dislike? It is a great tool for SVGs but, Adobe Photoshop is anyday better for diagramming and illustrations at a photo level. Recommendations to others considering the product: If you are yet using PNGs for icons, switch to SVGs: They maintain their aspect ratio and it ...

Moving away from Photoshop

What do you like best? It's an application designed with UI/UX developers in mind. What do you dislike? It's still a relatively new app. Because of this, sketch is not as professional grade as other software in the industry. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? The removal of a lot of tools from Photoshop would seem to be a downgrade until you realize that Sketch has all the tools necessary for UI development.

Sketch is the best UI design tool on the market for my needs

What do you like best? I love the symbol library functionality, and the new addition of Sketch Cloud Shared Libraries is wonderful! My team of nearly 100 designers has been able to utilize the shared library with our design framework to increase productivity, maintain consistency, and easily roll out updates to the entire team. What do you dislike? I dislike some of the microinteractions in Sketch's UI. The collapsible style panels on the right side of the screen are really annoying! I ...

A economic but powerful software

What do you like best? First, Sketch is a vector design tool. I am able to change the resolution of the pictures without making the picture quality worse. Second, the software installation package is really small, only about 20 MB. Compared with the large installation package of Adobe Photoshop ( usually more than 2 GB , Sketch saved a lot spaces for me. Third, compared with Adobe Photoshop, their price is really affordable. Besides, Sketch offer a free 30-day trail for users to let users ...
