Very Few Positives while working with Sitefinity
What do you like best? The out of the box admin is ok when it's working. What do you dislike? We implemented 2 pretty large sites using the Multisite Enterprise license and it's been an absolute nightmare to be honest. First of all, their multisite isn't really so. Both of the sites are housed under the same web application, so when you make a backend change or module change that requires a restart, both websites get reset and there is an incredibly annoying system initialization that ...

A Great Answer For Content Managers That Want to Manage Their Own Content
What do you like best? As a developer, some of the most boring tasks when it comes to developing websites is making content changes such as updating photos and changing copy. CMS's solve this problem by taking these changes out of developer hand's and give the power back to content managers. Many CMS's while attempting this try and fail and developers end up making the changes anyway. Not with Sitefinity, it has easiest UI for content managers to change. Drag and Drop controls and rich ...

Sitefinity -- works nicely
What do you like best? Great extensibility -- allows us to create components using standard .NET, and the users can drag and drop those components on any page they choose. The MVC flavor allows us to customize the HTML without it adding a bunch of extra code. Great permissions / user setup. Inline editing is nice. The Multi-site component allows us to spin up a new website in a matter of minutes. What do you dislike? Upgrading to a new version tends to be a crapshoot -- sometimes it ...

Great business CMS
What do you like best? The built-in tools for adding and editing content are very user-friendly and intuitive. What do you dislike? In the past documentation for development has been a little thin although I feel that this is improving. Recommendations to others considering the product Make sure you have a strong development partner familiat with .NET and SiteFinity if you want any custom features What business problems are you solving with the product? Ongoing Improvements for a Solid .NET CMS
What do you like best? Sitefinity's new MVC platform, Project Feather, has been a terrific addition to the CMS. We recently completed a responsive redesign using Project Feather, and we were able to integrate our new design with Sitefinity very smoothly. What do you dislike? As an administrator, it can be difficult to know how best to configure Sitefinity. Its ecommerce module is too bare-bones for our needs. Additionally, Sitefinity seems to be aimed at large, multi-site businesses. ...

Great for managing content but lacks in ecommerce
What do you like best? It's great for creating custom content and managing multiple content types. There is a lot of power in the module builder. What do you dislike? The eccommerce piece of sitefinity is disappointing. I think if it was integrated in better the experience would improve greatly. It's also not mvc which can cause some issues. Recommendations to others considering the product Great for handling multiple and varied content types Not so great for eccommerce What ...

Slight learning curve, but quite intuitive
What do you like best? Content blocks are easy to work with. Page creation is quite simple too - no need to know HTML. What do you dislike? Template pages are difficult to change. Sometimes blocks of content are locked through CSS and I require external assistance. I wish I could change these myself. Recommendations to others considering the product Expect a slow ramp up. Outsource to experts to get things started. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits ...

Keep having trouble when trying to customize the CMS to meet our needs.
What do you like best? Lot's of feature and it's using .net which is the language that I'm comfortable with. What do you dislike? Keep getting error when upgrading. Keep getting intermittent issue return code 0 Recommendations to others considering the product Don't customize with your own code without fully understanding whole sitefinity (it goes without saying if you do...it will behave pretty bad in some area. Return code 0 most of the time What business problems are you solving ...

Currently using Sitefinity for company website
What do you like best? I don't have any specific features that stand out. What do you dislike? As a new employee, I inherited the management of a Sitefinity site. Within a couple of months it became clear that we needed more page templates and modules/widgets to use for the content needs we had. The IT team at my office didn't specialize in Sitefinity so I started looking for freelance Sitefinity developer or a local web development company that could help us. I was able to get a hold of ...
