Spotsaas Editor’s POV

SendGrid's API remains functional for email campaigns, but recent reviews document specific operational issues. Users report account suspensions without clear explanation, support response times exceeding 48 hours, and IP blacklisting that degrades deliverability. The platform requires dedicated IPs (additional cost) to maintain sender reputation—a hidden expense ...Read more

Okay

What do you like best? It is (mostly simple to use. It has a great drag and drop feature to build campaigns, but you can tell there are a much smaller and more green company than the ones that have been around for a while (Constant Contact, Mail Chimp etc. What do you dislike? Technical issues occur all the time and formatting is not always smooth. You will build an entire campaign in the SendGrid portal and then go to send a test email and the footer background color will not be the ...

Tops for delivery

What do you like best? Top notch in boxing, great API. Put it in front of your in house email solution and you'll be on par with the pros. What do you dislike? Built in campaign management is only adequate. Mostly a good solution for integrations. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I've relied on send grid to act as an MTA for marketing websites (Kentico and SiteCore so that we can reliably inbox messages.

Simple and powerful but quite expensive and only 99.9% reliable

What do you like best? Easy to use. There's simple libraries or you can use SMTP. What do you dislike? Not entirely reliable. I've had them stop valid deployments because of concerns around spam; I've had: multiple instances where their engine slows to a crawl for unknown reasons before speeding up again; complaints that links don't work (link tracking server occasionally down for a few seconds; no emails deployed for a period of six hours. I use Sendgrid instead of SES or my own ...

Solid solution for transactional email

What do you like best? I've been using SendGrid as an SMTP server for many years now. It handles not only various account-related emails (signup confirmation, password reset, etc. but also weekly community digests, private messages, and even a newsletter delivered via WordPress's MailPoet plugin. I suppose what I like best is that I haven't had to think about it, ever, except for setup and a few changes I've made over the years. What do you dislike? I have a small side project that I ...

SendGrid - easy, reliable email automation

What do you like best? SendGrid is a reliable software to send and automate email marketing. What do you dislike? I've noticed that the custom email editor tends to lag quite often. Limited UI and automation functionality

What do you like best? Good for simple straight forward email marketing campaigns and very easy to upload a pre-designed template. What do you dislike? Visual editor is very difficult to use. Limited ability to automate marketing campaigns. Probably one of the largest challenges is how slow it is. It seems to take a long time to navigate between pages of the site. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Sending large scale, one off ...

Simple and pleasant to use

What do you like best? Every time I had a question I was quickly able to get a hold of an Account Manager on the phone or a response via email. Also, the interface was easy to use. Mostly, the reporting was excellent. They offered plenty more options such as domain delivery which are not included in other email service providers. What do you dislike? I disliked navigating the interface. I found it confusing at times using the marketing tools. Also, tried to get transactional emails ...

Great and simple for distributing mass emails.

What do you like best? The ease of editing email templates and ability to edit & segment marketing lists as needed. What do you dislike? I wish it would easily integrate with more CRM systems and allow for marketing automation. In addition to being able to link more events with Zapier. You aren't able to see a recipients actions throughout their lifetime based on email address. So I can't open open John Doe and see all the emails I send him and which ones he opened and clicked. ...
