CI & CD has been Amazing with semaphore!

What do you like best? There are different tools in the market provide CI & CD Services, but what I feel good about semaphore is Support and Documentation. you don't need to spend days to setup semaphore. Friendly Support Staff and easy documentation make it hassle free. What do you dislike? just want to suggest a feature to manage the manual deployment/promotions in 2.0 in a better way like it was in classic version. It has already been reported in the proper forum. What ...

Semaphore - the next phase in the evolution of CI

What do you like best? I've been doing CI/CD for more than 15 years, helping teams start doing it, improve their means to do it, and in general making it *boring*. In other words, removing the drama and headaches that plague poor implementations and letting devs focus on other things. Semaphore v2 is hands-down the best CI product I've used to that end. It's designed by people who really are attuned to what makes good pipelines work and have made that their primary focus. Semaphore v2 ...

Fast, user centric CI/CD

What do you like best? - Easy to set up complex CI pipelines - Really neat pipeline visualisation - Test artefacts to replay end-to-end failure videos - Customer support is excellent staff are knowledgeable and friendly - Build caching for faster test runs What do you dislike? - Some of the more in-depth features can take a while to get your head around. Such as setting up complex caches. - I'd like to restart a single job, which isn't yet supported What problems ...

Great support and product works great

What do you like best? In addition to the product working great, I would have to say the thing that I like best is the quality of support that I get. I have received quick and helpful responses to all of my questions. What do you dislike? I dislike yaml. I would have given a 10 on "How likely is it that you would recommend ..." if semaphore supported json for configuring. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We are currently using ...

A complete game-changer

What do you like best? I love having beefy servers available. Semaphore allows us to pay for beefy hardware (we use the e1-standard-8 machine type exclusively) for fast CI without taking on the burden of self-hosting. Because we're only paying for usage (to the second) we don't incur the fixed cost of scaling to match our peak so although on paper it's more expensive per unit time, it's worked out being cheaper for us than dedicated CI hosts ever was. On top of that, the basic unit of ...

Fast, flexible and scalable CI platform

What do you like best? I’ve been working as a web engineer for more than 20 years and I’ve tried a lot of different products in the CI/CD space, but I always come back to Semaphore. They’ve done an incredible job with the latest release of their product, improving it in every possible aspect: from UI to ease of use, from speed to pricing. It’s very easy to get started, documentation is exhaustive and clear, and workflows can be augmented and improved to cover pretty much any build ...

Powerful CI platform

What do you like best? - Lots of flexibility when building workflows - Personalised interface - Run jobs in parallel with dependencies to reduce build time - Cache files between jobs - Can commit config to git repo What do you dislike? - v2 web app is sometimes slow to load - Navigating between projects / branches could be easier in 2.0 What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? - Running tests in parallel (reduced time waiting for ...

Efficient, flexible platform for open source

What do you like best? We use Semaphore as the CI for Codehaus Cargo, a thin wrapper that allows you to manipulate various type of application containers (Java EE and others) in a standard way. The main challenge with Codehaus Cargo is that it supports TENS of different application containers, which then implies that "proper" automated testing would take hours on a single developer's machine - An unreasonable effort for people who just want to contribute freely to an open source ...

Great for MacOS and fantastic customer support

What do you like best? We use their MacOS and Linux containers to run our mobile app build and ship CI workflows. They work great and have fantastic support. We had a caching issue on MacOS that resulted in longer build times with cache than without and their team prioritized and shipped a fix within a few weeks. What do you dislike? For a small outfit like ours, they check all the boxes. They're not a super big name in the space though so there isn't the same kind of reassurance that ...

Simple to start, easy to scale, great UI

What do you like best? Semaphore was super simple to get started with. Other solutions like CircleCI were much more painful to set up. What do you dislike? There were a couple of small UI bugs which I reported to customer support; they were happy to assist me in finding workarounds. Otherwise, nothing significant. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We wanted a simple CI system for running our Rails tests and marking commits as ...
