What is Rhino?
Rhino is a general-purpose NURBS 3D modeller used across industrial design, architecture and landscape architecture. In landscape work it handles complex site topography and freeform grading that struggle in conventional CAD, and its Grasshopper visual programming environment supports parametric and generative site design. It is not landscape software out of the box — the landscape-specific tooling comes from the Lands Design plugin — but its geometry engine and openness are why it is common in landscape architecture practices doing unconventional terrain work.
