Does not function properly. Does not accurately report sales
I have spent 3 months TRYING to get this system working. It takes about 1 hour (on average) EVERY day calling in, troubleshooting, repeating myself to the multi-tiers of overseas support people. This month, my sales were overstated/reported by 12%. My tax owed (based on this report) is 10% more than tax collected. They don't know basic business and accounting. Yes service fees ARE taxable. No systems for accounts receivable Techs all disagree with each other as to what our issues are and ...

Innovative product, terrible customer service and reliability
Experience: Although it’s an innovative product, the quality of customer service is horrible. Three of our restaurants in Europe run on Revel and we have seen significant decrease in stability / consistency. Frequent updates in recent months have caused complete service failure during lunch time (as updates seem to come in at exactly that time). Our account manager is basically helpless, and can only offer us to pay hefty fees to their consultants as well as VIP services in order for us to ...

Overall I’m very satisfied with Revel.
I've been using Revel for about a month and am pretty happy with it. Just wanted to write a positive comment for other people to read. Had an enterprise system before Revel, so moving to iPads was a big step. The Sales Team did a good job of explaining things, answering my questions, and setting up conferences to discuss and sample the system. Installation was really easy. It took a day to set up all the hardware, but it was pretty straightforward. I was able to get the relevant ...

Overall I’m very satisfied with Revel.

Dreadful customer service
it's a great concept & we really wanted it to work. Unfortunately, we have had a huge host of issues from losing sales data (yes, altogether) often during Apple upgrade, to being pushed into a UK billing deal that increased the net price & pushed currency fluctuations on to us, to a series of random a/c managers that last about a week. They have promised the earth & delivered nothing - since January and it's September now. And now we're told the ipads we bought are no longer compatible.... ...

Invest major time into this system before going live
The bottom line is that it takes time to learn this system and you MUST be somewhat computer savvy. I spent several months learning and training myself and my employees before we went “live” with it. I couldn’t even tell you how many hundreds of hours I have spent in the backend, front-end, reading the manual, watching the videos, and just experimenting with the system overall. The person below who left a review expected the system to work on opening day without any training or learning ...

Not for Table service environments!
Revel POS has been a constant disappointment since we had the system installed about 2 months ago. Poorly designed, untrained customer support and frequent technical issues have created an added headache during a restaurant opening. What once may have been a competitive product has been left in the dust by the likes of Breadcrumb and Toast. WARNING! Look elsewhere for your ipad based POS.
