Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Quicken's core strength is tax-focused personal finance tracking, particularly for self-employed users and small business owners managing 1099 income. Before shortlisting, verify that the software handles your specific tax situation—it excels at income categorization and deduction tracking but has limitations in multi-entity accounting and payroll processing. ...Read more

I have used Quicken for 15 years for my business and home accounting. When it comes to tax time, I can print the reports I need and finish my taxes very quickly and know where I stand budget wise and business wise.

Love Quicken

Love Quicken. I have been using it years. Reports are getting easier to use but still could be more intuitive. Using tags, allow me to keep my rental properties separate without having to become creative with categories.

It has spoiled me!

Quicken does so much more than what I actually utilize it for but its ability to keep my home finances in order has kept me using it for several years. The "Transactions by Category" is a must for me and Quicken does it with ease. Being able to print out an annual register for multiple banking and credit card accounts, that I didn't have to manually enter, is another win for me. It has spoiled me! I don't think I can do without it now!

I’ve been using Quicken for 30 years

I like being able to search back many years for my records. In the old days I would have to page through checkbook after checkbook. I also like how easy it is at text time to do reports. It’s greatly upsets me that Chase bank no longer works seamlessly With Quicken. They have no search engine and only keep records for seven years but that is just like going through one’s old checkbook and finding what you need. I’ve been using Quicken for at least 30 years and will continue to do so even ...
