What do you like best about PerfectIt? I love the PerfectIt! feature that allows me to tailor operation to the Chicago Manual of Style, which is my default style guide for most editing projects. In fact, PerfectIt! also provides the CMoS reference number in it's suggested feedback, so no need to search CMoS to double-check a reference!

What do you like best about PerfectIt? Fantastic tool for consistency and style -- for ensuring that a document is both internally consistent and conforms to a nominated style. The ability to customise your stylesheets means it's incredibly flexible across different genres and types of documents.

"Vital Tool in My Editing Business"

What do you like best about PerfectIt? PerfectIt has a number of excellent features, not the least of which is the Chicago Manual of Style add-in, which makes using it even easier. But the consistency checks are what really make this product worthwhile. Knowing that the program checks through every single one of the sometimes 80,000+ words in a manuscript to ensure that spellings or hyphenations are the same throughout make my job that much smoother.

What do you like best about PerfectIt? Inconsistency is the biggest bugbear for editors and PerfectIt acts like my safety net. When editing large publications with masses of titles and terms, it's easy to miss things, no matter how diligent you are. The ability to work to in-built house style guides, or create your own, is also invaluable when working for major international organisations. I just could not do my job without it, and I know that many peers in the industry feel the same.

What do you like best about PerfectIt? You can choose the texts you run each time, so if you only want to check for open brackets or for a mix of -ise and -ize verbs, or if you want to run all the tests, you can do this, I like its flexibility and the fact that you can choose whether or not to make each individual change. You remain in charge.

What do you like best about PerfectIt? An earlier version of PerfectIt software was called the Consistency Tracker. I love that this software searches for consistency of punctuation and spelling. For example, do you hyphenate "net-zero" or not? The software makes it easy to view all examples of one spelling at a glance, so you can selectively change it with one click.
